Yamiche Alcindor is at it again. The PBS “journalist” who prides herself in letting her activism take center stage in her reporting decided to try out a new gotcha question today. She asked Kayleigh McEnany about confederate statues and a Trump comment noting “our heritage,” as if nothing else is going on in the country right now except Robert E. Lee memorials being destroyed.

McEnany was having none of it.

Nowhere does Trump ever stipulate that the “heritage” he’s talking about is just confederate statues. Rather, he was talking about the myriad of far reaching examples, from Ghandi to George Washington. In fact, the George Washington statue in Portland was destroyed just last week. Heck, not even Stevie Ray Vaughn is safe, whose statue in Austin was defaced last night.

Alcindor wants to compartmentalize the matter though because it allows her to set the narrative without acknowledging all the facts. She continually interrupts McEnany and says she’s talking about confederate statues. But the President obviously wasn’t, so her question is based on a false premise. It’s a “when did you stop beating your wife” attempt.

You’ll also note that Alcindor set a new standard that will no doubt be pressed going forward.

Yamiche sets the standard. Notes during press briefing that it is offensive to "glorify people who owned other Americans including enslaved African-Americans."

That means Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Ben Franklin, and Patrick Henry.

A lot of people warned this would happen. It was never going to stop with confederate memorials because it was never really about racism. This is about tearing down American history, including the founding, and rebuilding the systems from the ground up. It’s 1984-esque with a bit of the Bolshevik Revolution sprinkled in. Any attempt to pretend this is righteous anger is gaslighting. It’s not. It’s cynical and political, with a very specific end goal in mind. There’s a reason white liberals are helping lead the charge. They see the racial unrest as a vehicle for them to solidify power.

Alcindor herself continues to stoke racial tensions because her political leanings obviously line up with those rioting and tearing down statues. She apparently sees it as her duty to defend those actions by asking loaded questions that obscure the conglomerate of facts on the ground. It’s a shame that we don’t have a media that can simply report honestly on these situations.

There’s been no greater destructive force over the last three years, especially when dealing with the race issue, than the mainstream media. The damage done is reaching immeasurable levels.
