We’ve now reached the portion of this story where the mayor and governor bless the takeover of parts of their city. That’s going about as well as you’d expect.
Tensions are flaring and threats of violence are increasing among the different factions within the so called “Seattle autonomous zone.” Julio Rosas from our sister-site Townhall is on the ground and putting out videos of some of the chaos.

These people can’t even decide amongst their own revolutionists what they want this to be. Accusations are flying and everyone is seemingly trying to out victim each other. It’s gotten bad enough that if the mayor wasn’t actively encouraging this, things probably would have ended by now. Unfortunately, because she’s now endorsed their actions and is allowing resources to enter, it’s likely this will go on for quite a while yet. There are lots of people who’ve got nothing better to do, including those play-acting as warlords and enforcers.
Meanwhile, roving gangs are still trying to enforce their own version of the law, complete with threats of violence.
If only there were a way to have their peers examine the evidence to determine guilt beyond a reasonable doubt… maybe a system focused on justice on criminal cases…you could even call it a criminal justice system https://t.co/5PgVyS8TXf

While some in the zone may think it’s all about peace, love, and harmony, the strong always win in these situations. That means those willing to arm themselves and bust a few heads get the respect and power. In other words, the mayor’s delusional description of what’s happening is nowhere near reality. It’s like CNN constantly saying the protests are “mostly peaceful.” Who cares, if there’s a segment rioting and causing violence? The same applies here. This illegal autonomous zone is not a protest. It’s anarchy.
Unfortunately, I suspect Seattle can’t produce a majority to put a stop to this and that the mayor who’s coddled these criminals will end up continuing her political career.
