Fired IG Steve Linick's Troubles Aren't Over as New Accusations of Misconduct Are Levied

Several weeks ago, President Trump and his State Department fired Steve Linick, the then serving Inspector General. He was of course appointed by Barack Obama and was at the center of an embarrassing impeachment episode, whereby he tried to insert himself via supposed “evidence” he had. It turned out to be such a farce that even Democrats couldn’t play along.

Months later, Linick was removed but it looks like his troubles aren’t ending. Now, new charges are being levied against him, including leaking and misuse of vacation time.

The State Department is leveling new allegations against fired Inspector General Steve Linick, accusing him of violating the terms of his administrative leave and previously violating the chain of command to absolve himself and his office of leaking sensitive information, two letters obtained by Daily Caller show.

Undersecretary of State Brian Bulatao is additionally urging the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE) to open a new investigation into Linick’s alleged actions.

The specific allegation is that Linick improperly requested a copy of the DOD IG Report while on leave, something that’s not allowed. He did this so he could have advance knowledge before Congressional testimony, which he gave last June.

But what really makes this corrupt is that the report was dealing with leaks that happened within Linick’s own office. In other words, it appears he wanted to know what they had on him before he was questioned about the matter. Later, when requests came from the State Department for the same information he improperly acquiered, he refused.

I don’t know about you, but I’m shocked, just shocked that an Obama appointee would stoop to such behavior. Of course, this is the story of the bureaucracy. While they’ve made it their mission to destroy Trump, they are actually doing the same corrupt things they’ve also done. And if Joe Biden wins, it’s back to business as usual.
