As we’ve covered here extensively at RedState, Joe Biden decided to show us all how little control over his faculties he has by making a blatantly racist comment late last week. It happened on The Breakfast Club, where Biden asserted “you ain’t black” if you are African-American and don’t vote for him. It was a less-than-subtle combination of racism and laughable code-switching.

While some media outlets chose to make excuses, others tried to simply cover up what he said. CNN was in the latter group, going most of the day the comment was made without mentioning it (even MSNBC managed to at least cover it much more heavily).
It wasn’t until they could spin a “Republicans pounce” angle by claiming people are making too big of a deal about what he said that they finally covered it to some real degree. But even then, they managed to selectively edit the video. Jonathan Turley called them out over it this morning.
CNN's John King just began a question on how "some are trying to make a big deal over" Biden's "you're not black" comment. CNN then played the clip ending with “I extended the Voting Rights Act 25 years. I have a record that is second to none." However, the quote was edited…

…thus, on such false statements, CNN is not making a "big deal about it." It is simply editing it out. Not a big deal. That is not one of the "facts first" stories. This is the type of media indulgence that I wrote about yesterday…https://t.co/vp5HtMmKeY

CNN just replayed the same edited clip in another interview, preceded by a derisive comment about those "trying to make hay about this." In a story where Biden is proclaiming his support among black voters, CNN omitted the line where he falsely claims multiple NAACP endorsements.

To CNN, the story isn’t that a presidential candidate made a clearly racist comment. Rather, it’s that his opposition is trying to “make hay” out of it, as if it’s out of bounds or unusual to call out racism. No one made Biden do that interview, nor make that weak attempt at a joke.
Heck, no one made him run to be President in the first place when he clearly lacks the mental fortitude to do so. His handlers basically have him locked in his basement and reading from a script, but he still can’t figure out how to keep his wits.
But CNN is fully invested in the Biden candidacy so they’ll selectively edit the clip to make it seem as if Biden is just a champion of the black community, ignoring that one line later, he told yet another lie.
As to his assertion that he voted for an extension to the Voting Rights Act “25 years ago,” I’m having trouble finding what vote he’s talking about. But it was extended in 2006, which Biden did vote for. You know who else voted for it? Literally everyone else present. It passed 98-0. If that’s what he’s bragging about, that’s a pretty weak brag.
Biden’s campaign is just a mess. Right now, it’s surviving off of extremely biased media coverage and a virus that’s given him an excuse to stay locked in his house. We’ll see how long that can last.
