Joe Biden appears to have found a way to avoid his mind melting during every live stream appearance – just don’t talk.
He appeared with his wife Jill Biden yesterday via a video published by The Hill in which Joe stands there speechless, blankly looking into the camera as if he’s being propped up by somebody off screen. It’s one of the more cringe inducing things you’ll see today.
Jill Biden: "This moment reminds us that the presidency is about true leadership — having the forethought to prepare for the worst, the backbone to lead through chaos, the character to move beyond politics." pic.twitter.com/lhwvRiaXHT

Where to begin.
For starters, can we just note that this is basically a campaign ad that The Hill is choosing to run free of charge? On what planet is this video, which features a candidate’s wife spouting political platitudes, a news item? There’s no critical commentary, nor any accompanying article. It’s enough to make one wonder whether the Biden campaign needs to report this as a campaign donation and I’m only half joking.
As to Biden, man is this a bad look. Having his wife, who has flashed her deep desire for the White House numerous times at this point, speak for him as he appears to be in a zombie-esque state for most of the video is not a confidence builder that this guy can handle the job at his age, in his condition. Who exactly is running for President here?
If I was facing a constant stream of claims that I’m throwing my husband into the most stressful job in the world as his brain turns to tapioca pudding, I probably wouldn’t put out a video where I do all the talking and he looks like someone struggling to stand on his own. https://t.co/Wm0rQoZUOP

More and more frequently, Joe’s wife is coming across as his ambitious caretaker, propping her husband up so she can grab the prize at the end of the race. It’s all gotten very weird. This is a man who can barely complete a sentence at this point. When he’s off the teleprompter, he shows a continued inability to process his thoughts, often forgetting what he’s saying or randomly shifting to other topics. It’s not a “stream of consciousness,” trying to talk your way around an issue thing like you see without other politicians. This is clearly a cognitive issue. You can see another example of Joe’s mind slipping in a recent remote stream he did with Al Gore, where Joe began to slur his words in the process.
This can’t last. While the media will do their best by running campaign ads for the Biden campaign, the rest of us clearly see what’s going on. No amount of Jill Biden pumping up her husband in videos is going to change the situation. At the end of the day, Joe Biden has to stand on his own as the candidate. The biggest test will come in the debates.
Democrats better be warming up some replacements in the bullpen.
