How difficult is it to not print Chinese propaganda?
Pretty difficult apparently, as the media have been doing their level best to run interference for China’s malfeasance in regards to Wuhan Coronavirus. We’ve seen this with the Woke Olympics being fought over what to call the disease because, for the first time in recorded history, it’s now “racist” to label a disease with its origin. We’ve also seen nonsense being spread that China was sending aid to Italy while we imposed a travel ban. That turned out to not be true.
But no worries. They are going to keep fluffing the Chinese no matter what because it allows them to attack the bad orange man.
Coronavirus in China kept me under quarantine. I felt safer there than back in the U.S., writes Tony Perman.
Our laissez-faire attitude, prioritization of personal freedom and utter lack of government leadership have left Americans confused and exposed.https://t.co/GaKLvi2PW8

This is idiotic on so many levels.
One, the Chinese did not handle the outbreak well. Their universal healthcare system failed thousands who are now dead because they couldn’t get treatment in a timely manner. It can’t be forgotten that Wuhan was the center of this crisis. Tens of thousands are currently still infected there, and that’s if you believe China’s numbers. So this idea that the U.S. is handling this badly but that China did a better job is ridiculously false.
Two, those “personal freedoms” he’s maligning here are the reason we have the best economy and the best healthcare system in the world. It’s the reason our shelves won’t remain bare after the initial rush. It’s why a vaccine for Wuhan flu is almost certainly not going to come from China.
But let’s dive into a few excerpts here.
I’ve now lived through a coronavirus quarantine in the two countries, and the differences are stark well beyond their airports. In China, the obligation to isolate felt shared and the public changed their habits almost immediately. Sterilization, cleanliness and social distancing were prioritized by everyone at all times. Rightly or wrongly, the Chinese state’s heavy-handed approach seemed to work.
There’s very little evidence that China’s “heavy-handed” approach has worked better to this point. Yes, they are claiming fewer infections, but they also have the most infections and deaths, with Italy now facing a similar situation. Do they get no points taken off for so thoroughly screwing this up so as to spread it worldwide? Or does this writer simply not want to comment on that? The communists had a chance to contain this and chose to lie, punish, and obfuscate instead. That’s the story here, not that they dropped the commie hammer and people listened.
Particularly troubling has been the extent to which it has felt like high-risk residents such as ourselves have had to shoulder the burden for stopping the spread of the disease by being the only ones to go into isolation. There are lessons to be learned from the Chinese people if not its leadership, including that everybody must accept their own responsibility, vulnerability and complicity — sacrificing “rights” for the collective good — or many of us will die.
No, that’s not really a lesson to be learned at all. It’s Chinese propaganda being spread by a major U.S. news agency. The reality is that over 3,000 people have died in China. Around 50 have died in the United States. There’s very little basis to claim they are handling anything better than we are. But this is yet another chance for them to attack Trump, so they gladly take it, even if it means propping up our biggest geopolitical enemy.
There are no lines anymore.
