At this point, the Mueller investigation feels like a distant memory. It’s easy to forget that it once dominated President Trump’s administration, effectively stunting his presidency for years. The investigation dominated headlines and spawned a thousand different wild conspiracy theories, one of those being that a meeting in Trump Tower was proof of a detailed scheme to collude with the Russians in order to steal the 2016 election. In fact, you can still find people today who insist that meeting was “collusion.”

Now, new documents have been released which show exactly what happened at that meeting and it matches essentially none of the previous, mainstream media pushed narratives. Worse, it paints a picture of Robert Mueller and his team using the flow of information to hurt Trump, even as they claimed to be hunting for the truth.

I won’t post every tweet on the revelations by Undercover Huber here, as there are a lot of them, but I’ll post the conclusions below. Be sure to read his entire thread yourself, as all the source material is there for anyone that’s skeptical.

In other words, Robert Mueller had the ability to diffuse the entire “Russian collusion” firestorm, at least in regards to the Trump Tower meeting, almost immediately after the information began to surface. Instead, he sat on his hands and allowed crazy conspiracy theories and paralyzing false reports to plague the Trump administration for nearly another two years.

Some might say that he couldn’t correct the record at the time because the investigation was ongoing. That’s nonsense, as he did just that on two other topics while the special counsel was still going. But on this cardinal issue, the one which formed the basis for almost all the negative coverage and hysteria, Mueller sat silently by. That decision did more harm to the country than any supposed “Russian” interference could have ever dreamed of.

While you can still find those on the right who claim Mueller did his job honorably, I see precious little evidence of that. I see a man who, at best, was too weak to control his own team of rabid partisans. At worst, he actively aided in the dangerous spread of wild conspiracy theories meant to hurt the President politically. Neither is excusable.
