Go ahead and reset your “this many days since the last Rashida Tlaib anti-Semitic event” counters.
Tlaib has managed to share another false, disgusting smear about Jews in Israel, this time involving the death of a young Palestinian boy. The boy was found dead after an extensive search having drowned in a cistern near his home.
But the death was seized upon by anti-Semitic voices online, including the use of an unrelated video to claim the boy was kidnapped and murdered by Israelis.
Then Rep. Rashida Tlaib retweeted the claim.
.@RashidaTlaib spreading a blood libel. There is no evidence that the boy was "kidnapped and executed." He drowned in a cistern near his home. It was Israeli firefighters who found him, not "Israeli forces assaulted search teams." https://t.co/yZO7jdEgC8 https://t.co/TYu7Gm1IJu

The use of language like “herd of violent Israeli settlers” is common dehumanizing rhetoric you hear from Palestinian propagandists. Never mind that the claim simply isn’t true.
Notably, even the Palestinian official who originally spread this rumor has apologized for being wrong. Rashida Tlaib has thus far remained silent though.
This is an example of how the blood libel works in 2020. @RashidaTlaib retweets a vicious lie steeped in centuries-old accusations used to demonize Jews, then says nothing when it's disproven. An apology is overdue.https://t.co/s8n97T0CVB

He’s going to be waiting a while. Tlaib has shown herself to be stubborn if nothing else when it comes to her anti-Semitic actions. Had any Republican retweeted something akin to this (i.e. a false claim from a white supremacist or something), it’d be national news. CNN and the other networks would be berating that person non-stop.
But this has become just another day in the Democratic party. Their leaders simply ignore the rot in their own midst, scared to speak out for fear of angering an intersectional left that now holds immense power over them.
There’s no excuse, though, for legacy media members not to call this out. The fact that they don’t is yet more evidence of how broken their profession is.
