DCCC Chair Cowers in Fear as AOC Plots Against Her Own Party

The internal workings of the Democratic party probably aren’t something most follow, but apparently there’s a major break involving Alexandria-Ocasio Cortez. She’s been funding primary challengers against DCCC’s wishes and also refusing to pay her dues to help the party keep the majority.

This comes on the heels of AOC proclaiming that, in any other country, she and Joe Biden wouldn’t even be on the same side. There’s probably some truth to that, as most European nations are parliamentary systems that include many parties, some being more radical shades of the same side. For example, the Conservatives in Britain line up with American liberals on many issues but the Labour party is just full-blown left-wing crazy. AOC would obviously be in the latter and has previously expressed her support for Labour’s (former) anti-Semitic leader Jeremy Corbyn.

If there was a question bout how the Democrat party would react, here’s DCCC Chair Cheri Bustos being pinned down about AOC’s intra-party warfare and spending most of the time cowering in fear.

Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee chairwoman Cheri Bustos (D., Ill.) in a Sunday interview dodged multiple questions as to whether Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) is good for the Democratic caucus.

Asked by CNN anchor Victor Blackwell if Ocasio-Cortez is “good for the Democratic caucus in the House,” Bustos offered that “she has a lot of followers. I have respect for her. She brings a new voice to Congress.” Pressed by Blackwell, Bustos added, “We’ve got members from all different spectrums. I respect her, and she brings a new voice. I think that’s always welcome.”

Angling for an answer to the same question, Blackwell brought up Ocasio-Cortez’s fundraising prowess, noting that in the last quarter she outraised even Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.).

After not getting a straight answer, the anchor got frustrated and pushed the matter.

“I’m asking the chairwoman of the DCCC if this member, who is right now in the top ten of House members raising money, if she’s good for the caucus. You can’t give me a straight yes or no,” Blackwell said…

…”I’m trying to get to a simple answer. And I took four passes each at two questions. I didn’t get there,” Blackwell said.

The real answer is that of course she doesn’t think AOC is good for the party. She can’t stand her and it’s obvious, but she’s terrified to say that out of fear of fracturing an already divided Democrat base heading into 2020. These people made a deal with the devil and are desperately trying to avoid paying the overdue bill. That dance can only last for so long before things eventually fall apart.

In the case of Republicans, AOC has perhaps been the best thing to happen to them since Hillary Clinton got nominated in 2016. She’s had a purifying effect within her party, no longer allowing establishment leadership like Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer to straddle the fence. It’s full-blown woke socialism or bust now and that only helps the GOP.

If Democrats were smart, and they aren’t, they’d cut out the cancer before it spreads further, even if that means short term losses. But they won’t do that because they are so invested in defeating President Trump that they don’t feel like they can afford to get their base back in line. Instead, their party is going more insane as it becomes more and more tethered to the whims of a former bartender who’s shown herself to be a completely incompetent legislator.

But hey, that’s what happens when you make a pact with communists like the Democratic Socialists of America just to win a few extra House seats. Now it’s going to end up burning the whole party down before it’s all over.
