File this under completely expected.

We’ve already learned of the personal bias of the “whistle-blower” in the Trump/Ukraine matter. He’s a registered Democrat and worked for a current 2020 Presidential candidate (my money is on Joe Biden himself). Then there was the fact that Adam Schiff had been in contact with the whistle-blower weeks before he was supposed to even be aware of the complaint. There’s been nothing above board about all this and certainly enough to be suspicious about the motives involved given what was actually in (or better yet, not in) the transcript.

Well, here’s another layer. The lawyer for the whistle-blower once worked directly for James Clapper.

One of the attorneys that assisted the anonymous “whistleblowers” accusing President Donald Trump of conspiring with foreign leaders to interfere in the next U.S. presidential election used to report directly to former director of national intelligence James Clapper.

Charles McCullough, an attorney who assisted Andrew Bakaj, a former staffer for Sens. Chuck Schumer and Hillary Clinton, at the beginning of the process was previously the inspector general of the intelligence community (ICIG) at the height of the Clinton email scandal.

McCullough told The Federalist however, that he is no longer involved in the whistleblower’s representation.

“I am not part of the whistleblower legal team,” McCullough wrote to The Federalist in an email. “I assisted with process issues Andrew at the very beginning, and then withdrew.”

He now claims to not be part of the team anymore. I’m sure that’s true, as the optics are pretty bad. A guy who worked directly for James Clapper being part of the initial drafting and filing of the complaint isn’t a good look. This is especially true given Clapper’s rantings over the past two years about taking down Trump and his coming demise.

This CIA agent couldn’t find a law team that wasn’t so compromised? And while this article is about this specific lawyer who worked for Clapper, the main lawyer on the case also has his own conflicts, including running a partisan scheme to pay people to come forward and go after Trump.

It appears McCullough was quite the fan of Clapper as well, just in case you were wondering if the relationship amounted to much.

Last December, McCullough praised Clapper in an interview with Fox 5. “I enjoyed a very good relationship with Jim Clapper, we got along fabulously.”

So much of this hearkens back to the Kavanaugh hearings. You’ll probably recall a lawyer named Katz that represented Blasey-Ford. It turned out she was a left-wing activist with numerous connections to top Democrats. None of this happens by chance. These lawyers are highly political and they seek out clients to do their bidding. The same is likely true of this whistle-blower.

Of course, now that we have the transcript, the whistle-blower is largely irrelevant. You’d never know that based on the media’s treatment of the issue, but at this point Democrats are shifting to “obstruction” as their impeachment excuse of choice. That’s not an accident. They know the goods are otherwise not there.
