Why Are Anti-Zionists in the Democrat Party Never Blamed for Shooters Who Are Anti-Zionist?

This is a serious question given the rules perpetrated by the left in this country, i.e. that if you even breath a position that some rando maniac decides to share, you are directly responsible for their actions.

Immediately following the latest synagogue shooting, which happened on Saturday in California and left one dead, Democrats and the media sought to blame those on the mainstream right

This happened on CNN on Sunday.

Look, we’ve always been a violent society. America’s history is founded on violence but the underbelly was generally tamped down. We got some with McCarthy, we got some of it with George Wallace, but this era we’re in with Donald Trump, it’s like the Gates of Hell have been opened and these people get a pass to come on out and do it in public.

On the same show, Brian Stelter blamed the shooting on “right wing message boards,” despite the fact that 8chan is in noway a right wing message board. It’s full of anonymous trolls, none of which proclaim a coherent ideology, much less a traditional conservative, right wing one.

On ABC, Matthew Dowd suggested that Donald Trump “gave permission” to the shooter with his rhetoric somehow.

After a quick detour to push gun control, Dowd demanded that President Trump “look in the mirror and understand that the rhetoric, the words he uses in all of this inflame a big part of what’s going on in America, give permission to the most craziest people in America.

There are many more examples out there and this isn’t counting the countless hot takes on Twitter.

There’s a problem though. The shooter hated Donald Trump, conservatives, and anyone who supports Israel. Here are a few quotes from his manifesto, which I’m loathe to share but I think the media reaction demands it.

I am not a useless, spineless coward so no—I am not a conservative. Conservative is a misnomer. They conserve nothing.

And on Trump and Israel.

As for Mr. Trump: “You mean that Zionist, Jew-loving, anti-White, traitorous c*cksucker? Don’t make me laugh,” he said in the manifesto, according to Heavy.com and other news outlets.

Now, take this response by Ilhan Omar as a case study.

Notice the shot at Trump at the end there. That was purposeful and you see it come out in her later tweets.

You know what Ilhan Omar is? She’s an outspoken anti-Zionist who won’t even publicly say that Israel has the right to exist when asked. She continually defends her own blatant anti-Semitism by suggesting she’s only criticizing Israel. She’s also a big supporter of the BDS movement, which specifically targets Israel.

She’s so anti-Zionist that anti-Zionist Orthodox groups lined up to support her after he latest anti-Semitic remarks a few months ago. To be clear, it’s not just Omar, as anti-Zionism is prevalent within the Democratic party and is now seen as a acceptable, mainstream position in left-wing politics.

But if we are going to play by the rules these people have set forth, shouldn’t the Democratic party and anti-Zionists like Omar be held partially responsible for their anti-Israel rhetoric? Every single one of these synagogue shooters cited anti-Zionism and hate for Israel as a primary motivator. Why are there not panels on CNN bemoaning the dangerous rhetoric of Omar and others, who consistently speak in anti-Zionist terms?

To be clear, I’m not a fan of blaming anyone but the shooter. In a perfect world, we wouldn’t be even talking about this because there would not have been a ridiculous push to blame Republicans and Donald Trump for this shooting. That’s not the world we live in though. Given that, I think it’s worth the thought experiment to examine why anti-Zionist, left-wing rhetoric is never blamed when it is far more pervasive within the ideology of these shooters than anything coming from Republicans.

Anti-Zionism is racist garbage. No other nation on earth has to deal with assertions that they have no right to exist. The only reason Israel is subjected to such is because it’s a Jewish state. Omar couldn’t even bring herself to say that Venezuala’s dictatorship was illegitimate, as she criticized the U.S. for giving aid instead. Yet, she has no issue constantly spewing anti-Israel tropes and propaganda. None of that is a coincidence.

Meanwhile, synagogues are being shot up by people with rabidly anti-Zionist views. Do I personally believe that Omar should be blamed because she shares a disgusting viewpoint with the shooter? No, I don’t. She should be condemned on her own terms, but not blamed for this shooting. On the other hand, by her own standards, she should be blamed given her rhetoric. These people should be held to their own rules until they agree to stop using them. Consistency matters.
