Former Border Patrol Commander‑at‑Large Greg Bovino, who, along with former Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, was the face of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) crackdown in Minneapolis, is reportedly retiring from the agency after a 30-year career.
Noem was removed from her job as DHS Secretary on March 5 following the high-profile raids that incensed the media and Democrats, and will be replaced by Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) at the end of the month (pending Senate confirmation). Bovino, meanwhile, was taken off the Minneapolis mission in January, and Border Czar Tom Homan was sent to replace him. Bovino went back to El Centro, California, near the southern border, to return to his former job there as Chief Patrol Agent of the sector.
But now it’s time to hang up his boots:
🚨 BREAKING: Border Patrol Commander-At-Large Greg Bovino announces he’ll he RETIRING after an incredible 30-year career protecting America’s borders

THANK YOU for your incredible service, @CMDROpAtLargeCA
You’re a true patriot, and MILLIONS of Americans are grateful for you 🇺🇸… pic.twitter.com/D39W4yBDoe
The video in the tweet above is not his retirement announcement; it’s a clip made shortly after his reassignment as he spoke with Mt. Rushmore as his backdrop. Though he took plenty of criticism for his handling of the Minneapolis raids, he was unapologetic as he expressed his support for his fellow Border Patrol agents:
Team: Behind me, there are a few individuals there. That's the original, “turn and burn” [a phrase meant to evoke “fast pivoting”]. The folks that helped make America.
But you know what? I'm very proud of what you, the Mean Green Machine, are doing in Minneapolis right now, just like you've done it, across the United States, over these past tough nine months, and I want you to know that you're the modern-day equivalent of turn and burn. Makes me very proud. Also want you to know that I've got your back, now, and always.
I love you. I support you, and I salute you.

Bovino: Minneapolis ICE Surge Will End When Every Single Criminal Illegal Alien Is Apprehended
Bovino was an aggressive force of nature as he tried to help clean up the mess that former President Joe Biden left when he allowed tens of millions of illegal aliens into our country with his “let-them-all-in” border policy:
Bovino led Border Patrol’s raids in major US cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, Charlotte, New Orleans and Minneapolis, netting thousands of arrests including convicted gang members, murderers, child sex abusers and more.
“The greatest honor of my entire life was to work alongside Border Patrol agents on the border and in the interior of the United States in some of the most challenging conditions the agency has ever faced,” Bovino, 55, told Breitbart.
“Watching these agents out there giving it their all in some of the most dangerous of environments we have ever faced was humbling,” he added.
Bovino was widely reviled by anti-ICE agitators and leftist Democrats, but under his leadership, law enforcement nabbed thousands of rapists, drug dealers, and violent criminals. Although he was involved with controversy, most notably the shooting death in Minneapolis of anti-ICE protester Alex Pretti by Border Patrol agents, there’s no question that he got results.
He's on to the next.
Editor’s Note: Thanks to President Trump, illegal immigration into our great country has virtually stopped. Despite the radical left's lies, new legislation wasn't needed to secure our border, just a new president.
