It’s a story that happens all too often — so often that it rarely makes headlines.
Item: Young teen gunned down in an American inner city in a senseless shooting. Democrats immediately say it’s a fluke and that their cities are safe.
It happened yet again on February 11 when a 16-year-old aspiring football player was murdered in the Kingsbridge neighborhood of the Bronx during a melee outside a McDonald’s. Only one of the four suspects in the case has been arrested.

The teen was described as a hero who was trying to protect his friends:
"Christopher was defending his friends who were being targeted by a group of individuals who then opened fire on them in the Bronx," the [GoFundMe] page said. "His last act on earth was one of courage and selflessness, protecting those he cared about."
The 16-year-old was reportedly a talented athlete. He was a member of the John F. Kennedy High School tackle football team and the Fastbreak flag football team and previously played for the Bronx Colts and LBX teams, according to the GoFundMe page.
Now, his heartbroken father, Bryan Corley, is speaking out, and he is devastated by the violence in his community and the lack of empathy from officials like Big Apple Mayor Zohran Mamdani, an avowed socialist.
“Right now, we fear for our safety,” Corley said. “It’s just too much. We can’t even grieve in peace.
“They’re still out there, and nothing is really being done,” the dad claimed of the suspects still in the wind.
As for Mamdani, Corley was highly critical of the leftist mayor, who is on record saying that the NYPD is “racist, anti‑queer & a major threat to public safety.” He has since walked back that rhetoric, but is widely seen as being anti-police and not really giving a rip about crime.

“Everything is a lie. Mayor Mamdani saying that the police is doing a good job. They’re not doing a good job. It’s disgusting,” Corey raged. “The things my family has to endure right now and go through. Everybody is just using my son for a meal ticket, a move-up for their goodness.
Mamdani's too busy trying to raise taxes to reach out to the family, the dad charged:
“Even the mayor,” he said. “How can you make a statement when you haven’t even came and speak to the victims? How can you hold a conference and you haven’t even spoken to us?”
Asked if Mamdani or his team has reached out at all to the family, Corley responded “Hell, no.”
It’s a tragic story, but as I’ve written frequently, this is what you get with progressivism run wild. When you demonize the police, advocate for a revolving door justice system and coddle criminals, this is the inevitable outcome.
