The FBI released images Tuesday of what is apparently an armed person at Nancy Guthrie’s Tucson, Arizona, home on the morning she disappeared. Guthrie, NBC newscaster Savannah Guthrie’s mother, was seemingly abducted nine days ago. Several ransom notes have been delivered, but up until now, law enforcement has found precious few leads.

The tweet continues:

Over the last eight days, the FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department have been working closely with our private sector partners to continue to recover any images or video footage from Nancy Guthrie’s home that may have been lost, corrupted, or inaccessible due to a variety of factors - including the removal of recording devices. The video was recovered from residual data located in backend systems.

Working with our partners - as of this morning, law enforcement has uncovered these previously inaccessible new images showing an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie's front door the morning of her disappearance.

As our Sister Toldjah has been reporting, the disappearance has vexed authorities:

The 84-year-old mother and grandmother, whose daughter, Savannah, is the co-anchor of NBC's "Today Show," was last seen on Saturday, January 31, around 9:45 p.m. local time after being dropped off at her Catalina Foothills home by a family member. The family was alerted the next morning that Mrs. Guthrie did not show up for church [Note: This information has now been updated. She did not show up to a friend’s house to watch a livestream of a church service.] They then went to check on Mrs. Guthrie, didn’t find her, and called the Pima County Sheriff’s office.

Because of what has been described as “concerning” conditions at the home, including a trail of blood droplets on the walkway by the front door, Mrs. Guthrie, who uses a cane, has a pacemaker, and takes life-saving prescription medication, was declared missing. She’s been described as “sharp as a tack,” as someone who wouldn’t wander off, certainly not without telling her family.

The status of the ransom demands is unclear:

The search for her was declared a criminal investigation on Feb. 2, with a supposed ransom note demanding $6 million in bitcoin arriving to news outlets soon after.

But the note provided no proof of life, and a final deadline for ransom – which said Nancy would be in danger if it wasn’t paid – came and went on Monday with no apparent event.

And all the while, cops have admitted they have no suspects and no leads, with the clock ticking by the hour as Nancy is in dire need of daily medication for health troubles.

As of now, the person in the photos is considered a “subject” in the investigation. RedState will bring you the latest updates as they occur.
