It’s official — the United States has cut ties with the WHO. No, not the seminal rock band that brought you “Baba O'Riley,” but the World Health Organization, a body that faceplanted so badly during the COVID pandemic that they lost all their credibility.

Although the mainstream media has its knickers in a twist over the decision, it’s actually been a long-standing goal of Trump’s. HHS explained the decision on its website Thursday:
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Department of State today announced the United States’ completion of its withdrawal from the World Health Organization (WHO) due to the organization's mishandling of the COVID-19 pandemic that arose out of Wuhan, China, its failure to adopt urgently needed reforms, and its inability to demonstrate independence from the inappropriate political influence of WHO member states.

HHS, under the direction of Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., blistered the bodies’ response to COVID:
The WHO delayed declaring a global public health emergency and a pandemic during the early stages of COVID-19, costing the world critical weeks as the virus spread. During that period, WHO leadership echoed and praised China's response despite evidence of early underreporting, suppression of information and delays in confirming human-to-human transmission. The organization also downplayed asymptomatic transmission risks and failed to promptly acknowledge airborne spread.
The Department continued, saying that the WHO’s failures ended up “eroding public trust” by foolishly rejecting any idea that the bug could have escaped from a Chinese lab.
The United States won’t outsource its decisions to foreign bodies anymore, HHS vowed:
The U.S. is the world’s leading force in protecting public health, saving lives, and responding rapidly to infectious disease outbreaks. Going forward, the U.S. government will continue its global health leadership through existing and new engagements directly with other countries, the private sector, non-governmental organizations, and faith-based entities.
One thing Trump has shown over and over again is that we don’t need to bow down to the European Union, the United Nations, and other international bodies. While many of these institutions were well-meaning, a plethora have not shown to be beneficial to the U. S. of A.
The United States must look after its own interests, and for anyone who stands in the way: move aside. The WHO became another internationally politicized, weak-kneed, woke body, and it’s time to say goodbye.
