Autopen Showdown: Trump Slams Door on Biden's Executive Privilege Plea

As we know, former President Joe Biden (and/or his team) relied extensively on the autopen to sign pardons, proclamations, executive orders, and commutations. Since Biden was mentally checked out during much of his presidency, Donald Trump declared earlier this December that anything signed by the robot pen was “null and void.”

In an epic troll, meanwhile, he also had a picture of an autopen used for a Biden portrait in the new White House Presidential Walk of Fame.

On Tuesday, the administration continued to bring consequences for Biden's recklessness and shot down his request for executive privilege in the matter:

Former President Joe Biden requested executive privilege amid the Congressional investigations into his administration's use of the autopen, with the Trump administration rejecting the request Tuesday, Fox News Digital learned

"I am concerned that disclosure of these materials would damage important institutional interests of the Presidency, including by impairing the ability of future Presidents to receive robust, candid advice from their close advisers. For these reasons, I hereby assert executive privilege over the documents listed," Biden wrote in a letter to Archival Operations Division of the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) Oct. 1, 2025, according to a copy of the letter obtained by Fox News Digital.

Yeah, not so much, White House Counsel David Warrington said Tuesday, and denied the request in his own letter.

Warrington went on to write that Biden’s broad use of the autopen was an abuse of power:

As President Trump has stated, the abuse of the autopen that took place during the Biden Presidency, and the extraordinary efforts to shield President Biden’s diminished faculties from the public, must be subject to a full accounting to ensure nothing similar ever happens again.

The WH counsel also reminded the National Archives and Records Administration, to whom the letter was addressed, that the Biden administration's assault on our liberties during the COVID era must not be forgotten or swept under the rug:

Similarly, President Biden’s repeated abuses of the rights of American citizens during the pandemic and his politically motivated efforts to investigate Members of Congress must also be subject to a full accounting to ensure nothing similar ever happens again. Congress has a compelling need in service of its legislative functions to understand the circumstances that led to all these horrific events.

Then he came with the hammer:

President Trump has determined that an assertion of executive privilege is not in the best interests of the United States, and therefore is not justified as to any of the documents requested by the United States Congress.

Warrington also pointed out that Biden’s supposed signature on his letter requesting immunity does not match the one he used to pardon his son, Hunter, and that congressional investigations into potential abuse must continue.

“The Biden Autopen Presidency will go down as one of the biggest political scandals in U.S. history,” House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (KY-01) said in October. Indeed, the entire, shameless cover-up by the administration, the media, and the president regarding his diminished mental capacity should live on in infamy as one of the most corrupt and dishonest scams in our nation’s record.

We should be thrilled each and every day that Joe Biden is back home on the beach in Delaware and Kamala is wandering around somewhere in California.
