Following in the footsteps of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, Florida’s governor Ron DeSantis on Monday announced that the Sunshine State is designating the Muslim Brotherhood and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) as “foreign terrorist organizations.”
“Florida agencies are hereby directed to undertake all lawful measures to prevent unlawful activities by these organizations, including denying privileges or resources to anyone providing material support,” the Republican wrote on social media.

Muslim Brotherhood's 50-Year Stealth Invasion Now Exposed
As RedState’s Mike Miller reported in November, both organizations have come under scrutiny for possible ties to terrorism:
For years, the Muslim Brotherhood has advocated for extremism and been connected to Islamic terrorists. The Muslim Brotherhood, which started as a militant group in Egypt in 1928, has spread throughout the world and is tied to numerous jihadist groups, according to a 2018 Congressional report. The Muslim Brotherhood’s founder, Hassan al-Banna, was outspoken about fighting non-Muslims through jihad and wrote that “Jihad is an obligation from Allah and every Muslim and cannot be ignored nor evaded..."
The Council on American-Islamic Relations, a self-described civil rights organization, has been criticized over its ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. U.S. authorities have also posited that CAIR was established as a front for Hamas. In a 2008 case, which was the largest terrorism financing trial in U.S. history, the council and its co-founders were named as unindicted co-conspirators in a plot to funnel millions of dollars to Hamas.
Meanwhile, President Trump is cracking down on the Brotherhood too, as our Katie Jerkovich reported in late November:
President Donald Trump has followed Republican Governor Greg Abbott's move in Texas by officially designating "chapters of the Muslim Brotherhood" as a foreign terror organization.
In a post on Monday [November 24] on X, the White House wrote that "America will not tolerate those who fund and fuel radical terrorism."

Today, President Trump took decisive action to secure America from terrorist threats by initiating the process to designate certain Muslim Brotherhood entities as Foreign Terrorist Organizations. pic.twitter.com/Ec4qGbPLkm
DeSantis was pointed about why he was slapping the Brotherhood with this designation:
…the Muslim Brotherhood’s Islamist ideology is irreconcilable with foundational American principles of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness reflected in the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution, especially including the right to religious freedom and the equal protection of the laws...
He went on to detail CAIR’s alleged ties to terrorists:
…CAIR was founded by persons connected to the Muslim Brotherhood and was created, in the words of persons affiliated with CAIR, as “an official U.S. cover representing the Islamic community” to conceal ties to Islamic extremist groups…
Trump, Abbott, and DeSantis are taking a stand against those who make it clear that they dream of harming America, something more politicians should have been doing all along. It's a good start, though.
