Like so many other Democrats who seem to care more that late-night DNC mouthpiece Jimmy Kimmel was suspended by ABC than about the tragedy of Charlie Kirk’s assassination, former president Barack Obama felt the need to weigh in and cry about the supposed “censorship” involved.
Never mind that it was a company—Disney—that made the decision to sideline the inflammatory “star,” never mind that, as RedState’s Brad Slager wrote, Obama was once the country’s Censor in Chief, he still had to get in the action and scold, which is what he’s always been best at:
After years of complaining about cancel culture, the current administration has taken it to a new and dangerous level by routinely threatening regulatory action against media companies unless they muzzle or fire reporters and commentators it doesn’t like. https://t.co/uts7JpJZzN

Blah blah blah. We’ve seen what Democrats do when they’re in power, so your crocodile tears aren’t moving anyone. Especially not White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, who let the former president have it on Fox News’ "Saturday in America” with host Kayleigh McEnany.
He doesn’t have a clue what he’s talking about, the secretary alleged:
WH Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt obliterates former President Barack Obama after he claims the Trump administration “routinely threaten[s] regulatory action against media companies unless they muzzle or fire reporters and commentators it doesn’t like.”

The decision to pull Kimmel off the air was not the administration’s, she emphasized:
"With all due respect to former President Obama, he has no idea what he's talking about," Leavitt asserted. "The decision to fire Jimmy Kimmel and to cancel his show came from executives at ABC…"
Leavitt assured viewers that ABC's decision to suspend Kimmel was not at the behest of the White House, and that President Donald Trump did not pressure the network to do so.
Kamala Harris Whines About Jimmy Kimmel's Suspension, but Elon Musk Brings the Harsh Receipts
In reality, rather than being on the phone with Disney CEO Bob Iger demanding that Kimmel be ousted, Trump had no idea it was even happening, she revealed:
"And how do I know that, Kayleigh?" she asked. "Because I was with the President when this news broke in the United Kingdom."
The press secretary claimed that she was the one who broke the news to Trump during their U.K. visit, and that at the time, the president "had no idea this was happening."
Kimmel brought this upon himself, she continued:
"It was a decision that was made by ABC because Jimmy Kimmel chose to knowingly lie to his audience on his program about the death of a highly respected man when our country is in a state of mourning. That was a decision that he made, and he is now facing a consequence for that decision and for that lie," she contended.
There are some on both sides (see Texas GOP Sen. Ted Cruz) who question whether the FCC, under the direction of Chairman Brendan Carr, was right to react strongly to Kimmel’s misinformation monologue and indicate he might look into ABC’s broadcast license. In the end, however, it was Disney and not the government who put the gasbag, spiteful host out to pasture.
In the meantime, Barack Obama and Kamala Harris are in no position to lecture anyone about free speech, considering their long record of cheerleading for censorship and cancellation.
I’ll take your advice after I’ve given it to you, Mr. Obama.
