Hollywood Legend Jon Voight Drops the Gloves, Calls Newsom 'Lying Dog' for LA Riot Claims

I was honored to interview Hollywood legend Jon Voight in August ’24 to discuss his role in the movie “Reagan,” which starred Dennis Quaid as The Gipper. Not only is the movie fascinating, but Voight is one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet.

That doesn’t mean he’s all bubblegum and sugar, however—far from it. He’s got opinions, and he’s not afraid to share them, which is a brave thing to do in deep blue Tinseltown if you’re a conservative. On Tuesday evening, he let loose on California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who’s been torching his presidential hopes with his hapless responses to the anti-ICE protests that have roiled Los Angeles for six days running, and I am here for it.

While Newsom, LA Mayor Karen Bass and Dems across the country are blaming Trump for causing the violence by doing his job and enforcing immigration policy, the Oscar-winning actor says that’s a spectacularly foolish take:

He called the rioters who are attacking law enforcement and vandalizing the city “animals.” Can’t say I disagree:

“You’re a fool blaming Trump!” Voight, who was named a “special ambassador to Hollywood” earlier this year, raged in a two-minute clip posted on X late Tuesday amid the violence.

“What are you doing for this destruction — these animals destroying Los Angeles? Are you there talking calmly with them, you fool?! They would burn you down like they’re burning the cars and the American flag, with no regard for humanity!”

Voight, who is a long-time, outspoken conservative, didn’t hold back as he savaged the inept governor:

“This is not about Trump,” he said. “This is about protecting the people from these animals and criminals trying to destroy us. And our police force. Are they supposed to stand there, let rocks hit them and kill them?! Who’s going to save them? You?!”

“All you do is cause chaos for the people. You’re a disgrace! You’re nothing but a lying dog for the hopes of becoming the president one day,” he added.

You tell 'em, Jon.

It’s not as if Voight’s new to the party—he’s been sounding the alarm about what’s happening in America for years now.

This comeback shows Hollywood that standing up for your beliefs can never keep a true patriot down.

When I spoke to him in '24, he warned that the education system is failing our children, and that’s one reason he did the “Reagan” film:

So I [would] have some way of reaching people because the kids, our kids, have been attacked by this propaganda. You can see from the way they've behaved with Israel—this antisemitism that's sprung up out of nowhere. Where does it come from?

Well, because these kids have been taught these things against our country. And against Israel, too. That's where you're sending your kids—to get these kinds of programmings; people say it, and you don't listen to them.

That's what's going on in the classrooms.

If we had Jon Voight as governor in the Golden State, it’s a pretty sure bet that things here would be going a heckuva lot better than they are under the feckless Gavin Newsom.

Editor's Note: President Trump isn't going to allow lawlessness to reign in America. We will not have a repeat of 2020's "Summer of Love."
