As RedState’s Bonchie reported, pro-Hamas crazies tried to take over Columbia University Wednesday, and in a hilarious scene, were locked in the library by authorities instead of the usual practice of just letting them go to create more mayhem. This time, they were forced to show ID to be allowed to leave.
Those IDs may now come back to haunt them, because consequences are coming. Those consequences will be courtesy of Secretary of State Marco Rubio:
We are reviewing the visa status of the trespassers and vandals who took over Columbia University’s library.

Pro-Hamas thugs are no longer welcome in our great nation.
Contrast this response with Democrats and the Biden administration when protests broke out on campuses across the nation in the spring of 2024—they basically stuck their heads in the sand and pretended it wasn’t happening. That is, when they weren’t condoning the chaos.
AOC: "It is especially important that we remember the power of young people shaping this country today, of all days, as we once again witness the leadership of those peaceful, student-led protests on campuses like Columbia, Yale, Berkeley..." 🥴 pic.twitter.com/zOweWTzYNq

Columbia has been ground zero for a huge number of these pro-Hamas protests, and Rubio has seen enough:
The State Department is reviewing the visa status of the "trespassers and vandals" who stormed Columbia University's library Wednesday, according to Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Earlier in the day, around 100 pro-Palestinian protesters connected with the Columbia University Apartheid Divest (CUAD), a campus protest movement, took over the New York school's main library, posting in a statement that as "long as Columbia funds and profits from imperialist violence, people will continue to disrupt Columbia's profits and legitimacy. Repression breeds resistance."
The organization called for "full financial divestment from Zionist occupation, apartheid, and genocide, for the school to boycott "complicit institutions," and amnesty for all students and staff who are "targeted" with disciplinary procedures.
The State Department also warned foreign students that if they flout our law or support terrorism, they'll get a one-way ticket home. "This administration will not tolerate noncitizens causing mayhem on our college campuses," they warned. Meanwhile, ICE is doing its part and plans to fingerprint the protesters arrested to find out if they're here legally.
If they're not, good luck to them.

For too long, the Biden administration and blue-state authorities ignored the violent, chaotic protests on quads across the country that threatened students—especially Jewish ones—and disrupted the supposed mission of some of these institutions: providing an education. Rubio and the Trump administration are right to exact consequences for this anti-American and illegal behavior.
