It’s good news for most Americans: gas prices are plummeting, and the trip to the pump just got a whole lot less painful. They’ve been coming down for four straight weeks:

Gas prices fell for the fourth straight week on Monday and are likely to continue sliding below $3 per gallon, according to experts.

The average price of a gallon of regular gas is currently $3.078 across the U.S. as of March 18, according to AAA data. This is down from $3.081 a week earlier; $3.161 last month; and $4.367 last year.

The average price for a gallon of gas is also currently below $3 in 34 states, according to GasBuddy.com, which monitors gas prices across the U.S..

It’s a stark contrast to the Joe Biden era:

The price is coming down across the country:

GasBuddy.com reported on Monday that gas costs had declined for the fourth straight week and were 50 cents lower than a year earlier.

On Tuesday, the highest average cost for a gallon of regular gas was in California at a price of $4.649, according to AAA.

Hawaii and Washington were the only other states where average gas costs for a gallon were over $4, at $4.531 and $4.083 respectively.

Meanwhile, the lowest gas costs were in Missouri, where drivers paid an average of $2.793 per gallon.

To many people, gas prices hugely affect their lives and their wallets; during the height of Biden’s presidency, it was costing me $100 to fill my car. I dreaded going to the pump.

But as we say around here, “You can’t hate the media enough.” (All Townhall properties excluded, of course.) Leave it to the professional grumps to turn good news into bad. We certainly can’t report anything that might make Trump look good, right?

Lower gas prices inevitably will lead to an economic crash, they grouse:

Falling prices at the pump may be seen as a win for Trump, but experts have warned that lower prices are not necessarily a good thing.

Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.com, said that lower gas prices "comes with strong warning signs." He added: "when the economy slows, gasoline demand drops."

Yes, the apocalypse is coming! God forbid you should be able to fill your tank without taking out a loan. Here’s another dour report titled “Gas prices drop with tariffs, but economic worries grow.”

If anything, the controversy surrounding U.S. tariffs has only caused gas prices to drop.

But that might not be a cause to celebrate…  But this decrease could be part of a troubling economic trend.

Blah blah blah. I can see these writers pumping out stories like, “It’s going to be a beautiful, sunny day. The chances you will get severe sunburn and die will dramatically rise as a result.”

They can whine all they want, but I’ll take the lower gas prices. I lived through Bidenworld, and I don’t need to see that movie again.
