President Donald Trump and DOGE chief Elon Musk sat for an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity that’s set to run Tuesday night. In the meantime, however, the outlet released a pretty juicy teaser Friday in which the two friends say they‘re well aware of the lamestream media’s attempts to sow division between them—and they’re not having it.

Hannity pointed out that it was obvious that the media was trying to instigate a feud and cause a “divorce” between the two with juvenile efforts to trigger Trump by calling Elon “President Musk” and the like. He asked, were they seeing it?

Oh yeah, we’re seeing it, the president responded. Watch:

The media isn’t even very good at their transparent attempts at division, the president charged:

Oh, I see it all the time….

Actually, Elon called me, he said, you know they're trying to drive us apart. I said absolutely. No, they said, “we have breaking news that Donald Trump has ceded control of the presidency to Elon Musk. President Musk will be attending a cabinet meeting at 8 o'clock.” [Musk cracks up in laughter at this point.]

And I say, it's just so obvious, they' so bad at it. I used to think they were good at it. They're actually bad at it because if they were good at it, I'd never be president. …I think nobody in history has ever gotten more bad publicity than me. I could do the greatest things. I get 98 percent bad publicity.

Trump is known for hyperbole, but he’s dead on target with that claim.

So transparent: How the Media Is Trying to Scare the People About Elon Musk and Save Their Swamp

The American people aren't falling for it anymore, however, the two agreed:

TRUMP: …It's like the craziest thing. But you know what I have learned Elon - the people are smart, they get it.

MUSK: Yeah, they do actually,.

TRUMP: They get it. They really see what's happening.

MUSK: Yes.

Could this be a more obvious attempt to mess with Trump’s ego and stoke division?

It doesn’t appear to be working, though. Not only do Trump and Musk see through the gaslighting leftist narratives of the mainstream press—more and more Americans see it now, too. For proof of that, just look at the election results of November 5.

This seems appropriate:
