Kamala Releases Clean Medical Report. Trump Begs to Differ: 'Does Not Have the Stamina' to Be President.

Kamala Harris released her medical records Saturday and her physician said she is in excellent health and is fully capable of holding the job as president of the United States. Harris hopes her clean bill of health will contrast her with Donald Trump, who she accuses of hiding his health information.

Dr. Joshua Simmons, a U.S. Army colonel and physician to the vice president, wrote that Harris, 59, maintains a healthy, active lifestyle and that her most recent physical last April was "unremarkable."

She "possesses the physical and mental resiliency required to successfully execute the duties of the Presidency, to include those as Chief Executive, Head of State and Commander in Chief," he wrote in a two-page letter.

Harris' campaign hopes to use the moment to draw a contrast with Republican Donald Trump, who has released only limited information about his health over the years, and raise questions about his fitness to serve, according to a campaign aide who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive matters.

You wouldn’t expect Donald Trump to just take this at face value, and he didn’t disappoint. His campaign released a statement Saturday saying that Harris simply lacked stamina, especially when compared to him:

"President Trump has voluntarily released updates from his personal physician, as well as detailed reports from Dr. Ronny Jackson who treated him after the first assassination attempt. All have concluded he is in perfect and excellent health to be Commander in Chief. He has maintained an extremely busy and active campaign schedule unlike any other in political history, whereas Kamala Harris has been unable to keep up with the demands of campaigning and reveals on a daily basis she is wholly unqualified to be President of the United States. Her schedule is much lighter because, it is said, she does not have the stamina of President Trump. Polls are reflective of this." - Steven Cheung, Trump Campaign Communications Director

Also, in response to reports that he is covering up his medical history, the campaign supplied links to his most recent reports:

Unlike her boss Joe Biden, Kamala Harris’ physical health is not at issue in this campaign. It's incredibly rich, however, that she would call for more transparency when she was at the center of one of the great political coverups of our time: the hiding of Joe Biden's obvious mental decline.

It seems to be a matter of choice, not ability, that she and running mate Tim Walz hold so few interviews and public appearances compared to Trump and JD Vance. The Kamala team has repeatedly tried to make Trump’s age and health an issue in the election, but it has not stuck because Trump seems indefatigable and maintains a punishing schedule despite two assassination attempts on his life.

Now that Joe Biden has been put out to pasture, it’s policies, ideas, and the vision for our future that will decide this election, not medical records.
