...all fell during combat against Hezbollah terrorists in southern Lebanon.
May their memories forever be a blessing.
The soldiers were from two units:
The IDF did not say which areas in southern Lebanon the soldiers were killed. In addition to the Egoz Unit, the soldiers served in the Golani Brigade and the Yahalom Unit.
Earlier Wednesday, the IDF announced the death of another soldier.
Hezbollah said in separate statements that it had targeted Israeli forces in three different villages in southern Lebanon.
The Lebanese army has said that an Israeli force breached 400 meters (about a quarter mile) in Lebanon and withdrew shortly after.
After Iran, which backs Hezbollah, rained missiles down on Israel Tuesday in retaliation for the recent elimination of multiple Hezbollah leaders in a massive airstrike, IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari warned there will be severe consequences:
“Iran’s attack is a severe and dangerous escalation. There will be consequences…We will respond wherever, whenever and however we choose, in accordance with the directive of the government of Israel.”

Biden is scheduled to talk with other world leaders Wednesday. Knowing him, he will just repeat “ceasefire” over and over again, although it’s unclear how that would magically solve all the enduring problems in the region:
US President Joe Biden will participate in a call with G7 leaders today to discuss the situation in the Middle East, a source familiar with the call said.
The call comes as the US and allies are awaiting word on how Israel plans to respond to Iran’s missile attack on Tuesday. US officials have said Iran will face “severe consequences” for the attack, and officials across the Biden administration have remained in regular contact with Israeli counterparts as they determine their next steps.
This situation will likely get a lot worse before it gets better. Israel is facing enemies on all sides, and with Biden-Walz-Harris as their allies, they must be feeling pretty alone right now.
