Sometimes even the leftist cable news channel CNN has to admit when a Democrat is so disingenuous that they try to sell themselves as a type of person despite years of history of showing otherwise. Such is the case now, as Kamala Harris keeps trying to convince voters of a laughable narrative, namely that she's tough on the border. She's run ludicrous ads and made claims about her deep commitment to securing the southern boundary, and now she's planning on going down there Friday. To do what, exactly?
RedState's Nick Arama points out that the "Border Czar" has had plenty of opportunities in the past to address the problem:
That would be only Harris' second trip to the border in the last three-plus years occupying office. She did a prior hit-and-run visit for a few hours on her way to California from D.C. in 2021. She was met by Hispanic Trump supporters who nicknamed her "Que Mala" or "how bad."
It was too much for even CNN's National Politics Correspondent Eva McKend, who blasted the transparent move Tuesday and said that Harris can't escape her history.
Watch:
Boom! CNN's Eva McKend just DEMOLISHED Kamala's "I'm tough on the border" routine:

"So for her to go down there, and characterize herself as tough on the border, it isn't consistent with a lot of the policy positions that she previously has espoused." pic.twitter.com/nDvUw4yfwQ
McKend points out that Harris is on record as being an "ally" to illegal immigrants:
The vice president has a long history, a well-documented history of really being an ally to these immigrant communities. She has two chapters in her book—"I Say We Fight" and "We Are Better Than This"—where she really makes a robust case for undocumented immigrants.
She railed against Trump's wall, engaged in fear-mongering, and even brought a so-called "Dreamer" to Congress. Not exactly the hallmarks of a "tough on the border" leader:
During the Trump administration, she talked about a climate of fear. She dismissed the border wall as ineffective and a waste of resources, and so even her guest at the joint Session of Congress was a DACA recipient, was a Dreamer, and so for her to go down there and characterize herself as tough on the border, it, to me, isn't consistent with a lot of the policy positions that she previously has espoused.
Exactly. McKend isn't the only one who noticed the hard-core gaslighting effort:

There is a funny angle to this story though, and it's the faces of the other panelists as McKend "demolishes"—to use Charlie Kirk's description from his above tweet—the soulless Harris. With rare exceptions, save for perhaps the excellent analysis of Scott Jennings, they're probably not used to hearing very much truth in their broadcasts. They didn't seem to like it:
Priceless:

Perhaps Kamala will sneak in a trip to Europe after her Arizona jaunt:
“We’ve been to the border.” (Repeat 3x)
— Adam Morgan (@RepAdamMorgan) September 24, 2024
“You haven’t been to the border.”
“And I haven’t been to Europe. I don’t understand the point that you’re making.”
Arguably the cringiest and funniest moment of the presidential campaign thus far ⬇️ pic.twitter.com/UOqbJw7YUQ
