Former and perhaps future First Lady Melania Trump posted a video to X Tuesday and talked about the July assassination attempt against her husband, Donald, saying, "We need to uncover the truth” of what happened.
"There is definitely more to this story," she said in the 34-second clip.

"Now the silence around it [the assassination attempt] feels heavy," she said.
The attempt to end my husband's life was a horrible, distressing experience.
Now the silence around it feels heavy.
I can't help but wonder, why didn't law enforcement officials arrest the shooter before the speech?
There is definitely more to this story. And we need to uncover the truth.
The attempt by Thomas Michael Crooks came within millimeters of killing the former president. In the aftermath, the Secret Service has come under intense scrutiny over the monumental security lapses at the Butler, Pennsylvania, rally site. Former Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned following devastating testimony before Congress, and Assistant Director of Protective Operations Michael Plati has just been asked to resign.

The famously private Melania has a book coming out on October 8, titled simply “Melania,” and has posted several intriguing videos in recent days previewing what's in it. On Sunday, she put up a short but powerful message blasting the direction of the country and the efforts to silence Donald. "It has become increasingly apparent that there are significant challenges to free speech, as demonstrated by the efforts to silence my husband," she said.

Melania Speaks Out: Decries the Decline of the Country, Slams Efforts to Silence Her Husband
Melania spoke about the near death of her husband at the time:
Melania Trump had spoken out about the shooting that injured the 45th president a day after it happened, saying in a statement, “When I watched that violent bullet strike my husband, Donald, I realized my life, and Barron’s life, were on the brink of devastating change.”
“I am grateful to the brave secret service agents and law enforcement officials who risked their own lives to protect my husband,” Trump said at the time.
It's hard to believe that it's already been almost two months since the failed assassination attempt. Melania Trump and others still believe there's more to the story and want to know the truth about how such a near-disaster was allowed to take place.
Meanwhile, with the videos she's been posting, Mrs. Trump has certainly been dropping hints that she's going to reveal some details about life in the White House and at Mar-a-Lago that haven't been heard before. We shall see on October 1.
