Inside the arena at the Democrat National Convention this week in Chicago, there is supposedly great “joy” taking place, at least according to the endless array of speakers who have been encouraging us to ignore reality, pretend the economy’s terrific, Joe Biden’s been a great president, and Kamala Harris will make America better again if only she gets to be in charge.
Of course, she’s been second in command for three-and-half years now, but Barack Obama and his joyless wife Michelle, Bill and Shrillary Clinton, Oprah the Oppressed, and so many others would rather you didn’t mention that fact.
Outside the convention, though, and beyond the many walls the Dems have put up to protect themselves, there isn’t as much joy on the streets of the Chi-Town as there have been at least 22 shootings since the DNC began on Monday.
An unnamed Texas delegate found out the hard way what it’s like to live under progressive leadership early Wednesday as he was robbed at gunpoint downtown:
The victim confirmed that he was walking with a friend when they were targeted around 2 a.m. in the 100 block of West Randolph. We are working to have a more detailed conversation with the man and are not identifying him by name because he is a crime victim.
As CWBChicago reported yesterday morning, a black Range Rover pulled up on the 100 block of West Randolph, and a gunman emerged to rob a 25-year-old man who was on the sidewalk near the Allegro Royal Sonesta Hotel Chicago, 171 West Randolph.
D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser at the DNC: "I'm in Chicago right now — and it couldn't be a more perfect experience for our delegates and our party!"

Of course, there was more to the story—this is Chicago, after all—apparently, the robbery crew had more plans for the evening:
After getting that man’s wallet and room key, the robber crossed the street to rob a 37-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman, according to a CPD spokesperson. Those victims were the delegate and his friend. No injuries were reported.
Chicago police issued a community alert about the robbery team on Thursday morning, saying they were responsible for another robbery that occurred in the 200 block of West Randolph around the same time that the delegate and two other victims were robbed.
The pair is also suspected of robbing three people outside the Emily Hotel, 311 North Morgan, around 12:45 a.m. on Tuesday. Once again, they traveled in a black Land Rover Discovery.
Maybe I should look into a life of crime, and then I, too, can purchase a black Land Rover Discovery:

Soft-on-crime policies get people hurt. President Trump will put a stop to them when elected.https://t.co/mMf3ShOQFw
The duo—wearing masks of course—is also believed to be behind several other recent robberies. No word if they were wearing red caps and yelling, “This is MAGA country!”
The DNC may feature a lot of high-minded orators with soaring rhetoric, but in the end, this is the vision they are trying to convince you to vote for.
