Question: How do you make liberals’ heads explode? Answer: Give Tucker Carlson a prime-time speaking slot at the Republican National Convention, which opens Monday.

According to a report, the controversial former Fox News pundit, who now hosts a show on his own eponymous site and on Twitter/X, will address the GOP faithful in Milwaukee, although the exact date and time have not been announced.

Carlson will also speak at a Heritage Foundation event Monday. Many details of the RNC schedule have yet to be finalized, but the most suspenseful question remains unanswered: Who will Donald Trump pick as his running mate?

The Heritage Foundation is scheduled to host an all-day “policy fest” on Monday at the RNC Convention, headlined by conservative media personality Tucker Carlson and former Utah Congressman Jason Chaffetz, among others.

The RNC convention could also be the showcase for Trump announcing his running mate, after months of speculation about who would get the nod. As of Friday, Trump had not revealed his pick, though speculation centered around Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum.

There was also little information available ahead of the convention as to the lineup and schedule of speakers in official sessions throughout the week, which culminates with the nomination of Trump on Thursday and his speech.

It’s also unclear what Carlson’s theme will be; anyone who’s watched him over the years knows he has a variety of interests and subjects that he cares about. Will he throw down a red-meat Republican crowd-pleaser, or will he deliver a more personal speech about faith and happiness, which he has been wont to do it the past?

One of the things that made his Fox News show such a ratings winner was that Tucker was unafraid to investigate subjects that other hosts wouldn’t touch with a 20-foot pole. He would talk about anything, and he was always interesting, whether you agreed with him or not (and he was unafraid to take plenty of controversial stances). Although I haven’t seen as much of the new version of his offerings, he continues to make waves:

He just posted one this morning, Saturday, discussing alternatives to Biden should he be unable to continue his reelection effort:

One thing is for sure, Tucker's taking the stage would instantly make the convention more interesting. The question remains—which of the major news networks, if any, carry the speech live? Or will they all just cut to regular programming because they’re afraid of what he might say?
