Facebook Ends 2023 With More Censorship, Suspends Libs of TikTok—Again

Facebook is at its censorship game again to close out 2023, first suspending the popular account Libs of TikTok from its platform on Saturday, then reinstating it on Sunday after account owner Chaya Raichik appealed.

Visitors to LOTT on FB were greeted with the friendly holiday message:

The page Libs of TikTok has been disabled for going against our community standards. You cannot visit the Page and you won’t be able to add new people to work on the Page.

Raichik, no stranger to censorship or people trying to intimidate her from speaking out, appealed and says they caved to the pressure:

It’s unclear how exactly she violated the guidelines. The account mostly reposts videos from TikTok that activists and educators have uploaded promoting extreme transgender and LGBTQ ideology. She lets the posters simply speak for themselves, so if those posts are hate speech, how come it seems that the original accounts are never censored?

In an interview Saturday, Raichik thanked X owner Elon Musk for promoting free speech on his platform but also warned of more censorship from the Meta owned sites like Facebook, Threads, and Instagram:

"The people’s right to speak the truth will always win out over censors if people stay determined to tell it," Chaya Raichik told The Post Millennial. "It’s a shame that Mark Zuckerberg cares more about peddling lies and catering to far left ideologies than letting users speak. Every day I’m grateful to Elon for what he’s done for free speech. No matter how many platforms censor and ban, we will always have X where we can tell the truth."

"Buckle up for extreme censorship from big tech heading into the elections. They think we’re stupid. Thanks again Elon Musk for giving us a free speech platform!" The account posted.

Meta's community guidelines are controversial because they are vague and seem to be invoked far more often against conservatives than they are against liberals:

'Meta recognizes how important it is for Facebook to be a place where people feel empowered to communicate, and we take our role seriously in keeping abuse off the service. That’s why we developed standards for what is and isn’t allowed on Facebook,' the website said about the guidelines.

Perhaps Meta should spend more time looking after their own house.
