OOPS – No cultural appropriation for me today. Let’s have a little fun unrelated to Mexico.

I love cheesy old music videos, whether the cheesiness is intentional or not. Here are a few examples, saving a special one for last.

ABC

ABC’s videos were always intentionally goofy, so when I say it’s cheesy I mean it affectionately.

The B-52’s

It took a while for me to ‘get’ the B-52’s. Everything about them is goofy and fun, and their best-known song is a perfect example.

Siouxsie & the Banshees

Some parts of this video such as the dancing skeleton are so cheap I’ll call this one cheesy even though most of it is fairly normal.

Maybe you’ve never seen one of these ‘literal videos’, so let me explain. Some genius with a lot of time on his hands took this ridiculous video (and others) and replaced the singing with similar-sounding lyrics reflecting what’s happening in the video.
