The Trump administration has spent its first year-plus in office trying to correct the damage done by the Biden administration's letting millions of illegal immigrants from every corner of the world into the U.S. Even starting with the removal of the "worst of the worst," drug dealers, human traffickers, and gang and cartel members, Democrats have fought it every step of the way. You would think that in an election year, Democrats might try listening to voters a bit better. But once again, they are tuning out when the American people speak.

A new Harvard Harris poll that was taken between February 26 and 28 and surveyed 1,999 registered voters showed that 57 percent of Americans want not just those worst of the worst out of the country; they want all illegal immigrants removed. That 57 percent includes 54 percent of independents and 79 percent of Republicans. Just 35 percent of Democrats said they wanted all illegal immigrants removed.

The numbers are noteworthy, given the fact that a coordinated effort of pro-illegal immigrant Democrat politicians and the media has kept Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids and anti-ICE protests front and center in an attempt to push the false narrative that a majority of Americans do not want mass deportations to continue. However, the Democrat-media narrative does have some influence, as those promising numbers exist alongside some swing voters who said they did not like some of the hard-handed approaches that often must be used by ICE to track down and deport illegal immigrants. Of those surveyed, 55 percent said they opposed “hiring an additional 20,000 border patrol and ICE agents to conduct immigration raids and policing within different parts of the country.”
The recent rash of horrific crashes taking place on America's highways involving illegal immigrants operating 18-wheelers prompted 63 percent of those surveyed to say they would be in favor of a law that would prohibit issuing commercial driver's licenses (CDL) to illegal immigrants. Again, Democrats don't seem to get it, as just 40 percent said they would favor prohibiting illegal immigrants from getting CDLs.

But even as decisively as Americans have spoken about what they want, Democrats refused to be moved off of their support and coddling of people who should not be in the country. Some have all but stated that the goal is for illegal immigrants to become Democratic voters eventually. And apparently, Democrats don't seem concerned about violent illegal immigrant criminals, as long as they vote Democrat. They made this even clearer at the State of the Union address when President Trump asked lawmakers in attendance to stand if they agreed with the statement, "The first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens. Not illegal aliens." No Democrats stood.
It's an odd kind of irony. Democrats want to import a new crop of voters, but don't seem to care about the current crop of Americans who vote and what they want. Democrats recently claimed they will now listen to voters and rolled out their new "Local Listeners" program. But are they only listening to what they want to hear? They certainly don't appear to want to listen to the fact that by removing illegal immigrants, wages are increasing and housing costs are decreasing.
After 2024, you would think that Democrats could ill-afford to go with the "ignore the voters" campaign strategy, but here's to hoping they do.
