There really has never been a reaction from Democrats and the left over any other Republican president in modern times like the one that President Donald Trump has received. From the second he came down the escalator in Trump Tower in 2015, the left has been obsessed with not just bringing him down politically, but also his family, his businesses, and even his supporters. It seems like every day we are treated to some new scheme for them to "get Trump." But their latest strategy works around their belief that America is an unimaginable hell for minorities and others they have deemed "marginalized."

On January 12, the far-left group "Free DC" is hosting an event whose purpose is designed to inform Washington, D.C., area residents how, should they be summoned for jury duty, they can use that jury duty to defend those marginalized defendants from alleged "systemic bias" in the criminal justice system. Free DC is hosting the event with another group, "Harriet's Wildest Dreams." According to the event description, the discussion will center around how jurors can “protect our people, especially those with marginalized identities who are disproportionately targeted by the criminal legal system."
Free DC has been on the front lines of the Trump "resistance" movement. So much so that The Washington Post called them “the face of the capital’s anti-Trump resistance.” They have also been fierce critics of Trump deploying National Guard troops to the nation's capital. The event description goes on to say that
“Jury duty is not just a civic responsibility; it’s a powerful tool for ensuring fairness and justice. As community members, our participation in juries is vital to safeguarding the rights of those who are most vulnerable to systemic biases. By serving on a jury, we can influence outcomes and help create a more equitable legal process.”
While this may spur on budding young far-left activists to take their jury duty seriously, there's just one problem. Free DC has been linked to the Tides Foundation dark money organization and uber lefty George Soros's Open Society Foundations. It falls under the umbrella of leftist nonprofits Community Change and Community Change Action, which have also received money from the Arabella Advisors network, a D.C.-based consulting firm that manages several funds that finance leftist groups. It is all an intentionally tangled web of dark money donors.

Free DC is a sort of precursor to Black Lives Matter, having gained their real foothold in the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s. In the "history" portion of their website, they claim that "The denial of full statehood to DC is deeply rooted in racism." No...it's actually rooted in the Constitution, but Free DC isn't about to let facts stop them.
It turns out, however, that resisting Donald Trump is a lucrative endeavor. Between 2020 and 2023, Community Change Action received $12.6 million from Open Society, $5.6 million from Arabella Network, and $1.9 million from the Tides Foundation. It is unknown how much money Free DC received. They began organizing in 2023 over a congressional effort to block a revision to the DC criminal code.
The left will continue to cook up more ridiculous ways to "resist" Donald Trump, but if George Soros has his slimy hands near it, we should keep a very close eye on juror "training."
