When it comes right down to it, the left is really nothing but glorified bullies. When they are in power, there is no compromise, no meeting halfway. Theirs is a "my way or the highway" mentality. We can whiff that away with a brush of a hand when it is something mildly stupid, but the problem is when it affects serious things, which it frequently does. More and more Americans are skeptical of the whole climate change scare, but there are still those, especially in blue states, who just can't seem to quit the insane ideas that come with it. The latest example comes from deep blue New York.
I’ll just say it for the millionth time… you don’t matter, your kids don’t matter, nothing matters to Democrats except their evil, twisted ideology.

@GovKathyHochul is a low IQ dope and her ‘all electric’ idiocy WILL get people killed. Guaranteed https://t.co/eRqWW19KfT
New York has mandated that by 2027, all school buses must be electric. The "Why Our Kids Need Electric School Buses" website touts all sorts of benefits, such as, of course, clean air, a quieter environment for both drivers and students, and better academic outcomes. New York has allocated roughly $263 million for electric buses that come at around $156,000 a pop. The unforeseen consequence: it's winter — and the kids are freezing.

In Erie County, New York, parents are complaining to the Lake Shore Central School District that their kids are coming home half frozen because the drivers turn down or completely turn off the heat in the bus. Why? To save energy for the electric engine. One parent explained the problem, saying, “The heaters on the bus run off the same electricity as the bus itself. They were told that it drains the battery capacity of the bus itself.” A grandparent said:
My grandson came home from school last week when it was 23 degrees. He said they didn’t have heat. He came in cold, and I told him, I said, "isn’t the bus warm?" And he said "no, they can’t put the heat on because it drains the battery."
But the insanity gets even more dangerous. Another parent described this harrowing situation:
The bus broke down on route. They deployed a substitute bus, and the bus was more than 30 minutes late. My son stood outside for over 35 minutes waiting for a bus that wasn’t coming. Some of those kids are on there for upwards of a half hour or more while the bus makes its route. There’s no reason that the kids should freeze for all that time.

Upper New York parents say their kids are ‘freezing’ on mandated electric school buses during brutal winter weather because drivers were told that the electric heaters would drain the batteries.
School district Superintendent Phil Johnson is standing by the district's electric buses, saying:
All routes are planned so that the electric bus battery capacity is more than sufficient to support both the route and continuous heating, even in winter weather. The district values its transportation staff and continues to provide training and support to ensure students and staff are safely transported.
One might question, does he really have a choice to not defend the buses? Maybe not, but something called the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority also stands behind the vehicles. However, buried in their website is this: “While battery range can decrease in cold weather, they are still sufficient to complete operations on most local bus routes."

The left loves electric school buses. No one loves those electric buses more than former Vice President Kamala Harris, who was giddy at the sight of them. But make no mistake, no amount of Trump executive orders canceling climate change and Green New Deal absurdity will make lefties give up their electric school bus dream/nightmare anytime soon. If you are a parent in New York, better invest in some hand and foot warmers.
As anyone rational who looks at the science knows, colder weather means electric vehicle batteries discharge faster (less efficient).
