As Americans began to gather with family and friends to celebrate Thanksgiving, they watched in shock and horror as two National Guard troops in Washington, D.C., were shot as they patrolled the streets of the nation's capital, trying to make it a safe place. Not only had these heroes volunteered to be away from their own families during the holiday to serve their country, but we have since learned that one of those heroes has made the ultimate sacrifice. More will be learned about this radicalized individual accused of perpetrating the shooting in the coming days. But who is responsible for that radicalization?
Just like with Charlie Kirk, these shootings are a result of dangerous Democrat rhetoric.

The investigation is very active, and FBI Director Kash Patel has stated that the shooting would be treated as “an act of terrorism." The suspect, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, is an Afghan national who had worked with the CIA in Afghanistan. He initially entered the U.S. in 2021 under the Operation Allies Welcome program set up under the Biden administration after the disastrous withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan. Further reports indicate he was granted asylum this past April.

But here is the thing with vetting, as former CIA station chief Dan Hoffman stated on the Fox Business Channel:
"If we (CIA) vetted someone six months ago, then that vetting might have been good then, but it doesn't mean it's good today. So, the questions that remain are what motivated the shooter? Was he radicalized online...?
Again, it's early on in the investigation, but now, someone who would know has brought up the possibility that Lakanwal was radicalized online. The internet is not hard to navigate. If you are someone who is looking for more information on radical Islamic ideology online, chances are, if you know where to look, it is not hard to find. But what if you are being bombarded by another kind of radicalization? It's even easier to find than radical Islam. So easy that you don't even have to look for it. It finds you. It's the radical ideology of Democrats and the Left.
It might not have been around as long as radical Islam, but it packs all the intensity. For a decade, since Donald Trump came down the escalator in Trump Tower, the world has been treated to radical Democrat leftist ideology. But since Trump has returned to the White House and begun implementing the agenda the American people overwhelmingly voted for, that ideology has ramped up a hundredfold. Go to any form of American media, and you will find radical Democrat leftist ideology in your face, whether you want it there or not. It is an endless tirade of calling Trump a dictator and his supporters Nazis, fascists, and Brown Shirts; the list goes on and on. They have vilified ICE agents as roaming bands of masked agents who just pick up random people off the street, and criminals have become the victims.

This attack is on them and their hateful rhetoric.
There is a common thread that runs through both ideologies. That the West, and more specifically America, is bad. Radical Islam calls America "the great Satan." Democrats and the left call America a place of racism and oppression, all driven by Donald Trump, Republicans, and conservatives. More recently, six Democratic elected officials urged members of the military and intelligence communities to defy "illegal orders" from their chain of command. If you are a guy like Rahmanullah Lakanwal, have those Democrats given you a green light?
The steady stream of radical Democrats and leftists doesn't appear to be letting up any time soon. Since the arrival of Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14) and the squad, Mayors-elect Zhoran Mamdani in New York City and Katie Wilson in Seattle, the list of radical Democrats and leftists is not getting any shorter. The Democratic Socialists of America claim that 12 candidates they endorsed in the 2025 election cycle won, and two advanced to December run-offs. Many are running at the local level, for city councils and the like. The more local they are, the more in-your-face Democrat leftist ideology is.
Rahmanullah Lakanwal is one guy. The Biden administration allowed 190,000 Afghans into the country. President Trump has ordered the examination of green card holders from places like Iran, Libya, and Somalia. Not all, but many of these people have been exposed to radical Islam. Combine that with the fact that they have also gotten full unsolicited access to Democrat leftist radical ideology. What if it is too late?
There is also the very valid argument for assimilation. Everyone should be proud of their heritage. But is it time that we question whether some cultures are simply incompatible with American values? Bottom line: If you are not coming here to become an American because you love America, don't bother coming at all.
We keep asking, what is it going to take for Democrats and the left to stop spreading radical Democrat leftist ideology? The answer may be just as dark as the ideology itself.
