As President Donald Trump keeps racking up wins still early in his second term, the Democrat Party's collective case of Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) continues to advance to the next stages. Whether it is securing the southern border, unleashing American energy, or even the way he decorates the Oval Office, you can bet Democrats are going to either be against it, find something wrong with it, or all of the above. But just when you think they could not get more ridiculous, they find a way to top themselves. The latest thing Democrats were for before they were against is lowering the cost of prescription drugs.

This is Probably Why Sen. Majority Leader John Thune Said Codifying Trump's Executive Order Lowering Prescription Drug Prices Would Be 'Controversial'

On Monday, Trump signed an executive order that would lower drug costs by an estimated 59 to 90 percent. The move would be a huge cost savings for all Americans, but especially senior citizens and others on fixed incomes. Currently, Americans pay more for prescription drugs than any other developed nation. It is also something that, in the past, both Democrats and Republicans were on board with. But in the wake of Trump's EO designed to lower drug costs, Democrats are suddenly lukewarm on an idea that would help the very people they claim to care about.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) took to X, saying, “This is nothing more than a flashy press release from Donald Trump." She added, “Trump should put his weight behind a bill so we can actually lower drug prices." Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) said in a statement,
“Donald Trump is all hat and no cattle when it comes to lowering the price of prescription drugs. If Trump was serious about lowering drug prices, he would work with Congress to strengthen Medicare drug price negotiations, not just sign a piece of paper."
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) used it as a chance to push his own bit of upcoming legislation, also saying if Trump is serious, he will support it.
“If Trump is serious about making real change rather than just issuing a press release, he will support legislation I will introduce to ensure we pay no more for prescription drugs than people in other major countries."
So, now liberals are against lowering prescription drug prices and bringing refugees to America?

Warren, however, was saying something very different back in 2023. She cheered Biden's announcement that he would enact federal "March-In Rights." This would allow the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to license prescription drugs to different drug companies if prices were deemed too high. At the time, Warren praised the Biden administration, posting on X:
“Today, POTUS took a critical step to cut costs and rein in abuses by Big Pharma, which has raked in billions by raising prices for drugs that taxpayers paid to develop. Big Pharma will no longer have a free pass to hike prices for drugs that benefitted from public dollars."
Warren did leave out one little tidbit: Biden went around Congress to enact it. Wyden mentioned a portion of the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act that permitted Medicare to negotiate drug costs for senior citizens. He was also selective, not mentioning Biden's 2021 executive order calling for lowering drug prices.
There does appear to be one Democrat not totally engulfed in hypocrisy and TDS fog. Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) praised Trump's executive order and said he will introduce legislation to codify it, saying:
“Today, I am introducing legislation to codify President Trump’s executive order, ensuring Americans do not pay more than people in other countries for drugs."
The very thing Democrats have ranted about for what seems like forever, lowering the cost of prescription drugs, they were all in on when Joe Biden was going to do it. Now that Trump will most likely get it done, they are against it. Many have already said it: if Trump cured cancer, Democrats would be against it.
If Trump cured cancer, the democrats have so much blind hatred they would literally say he destroyed millions of healthcare jobs.

Team Trump has been thinking outside the box, and it’s refreshing after four years of Biden malaise.
