'Billionaires for Me but Not for Thee' Democrat Hypocrisy on Parade in 2024 Presidential Election

Democrats have always portrayed themselves to be the party of the working man. But as we can see in 2024, that is rapidly changing. Democrats seem to have a never-ending supply of celebrities and billionaires ready to endorse Democrat nominee Kamala Harris. But something else is changing, too. Some of those billionaires are getting behind Donald Trump. One of those big-money guys is Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, and suddenly, Democrats are crying foul.

Musk has fully endorsed Trump and joined him on the campaign trail in the all-important state of Pennsylvania. As a businessman, Musk knows that Kamala Harris' and Democrats' economic policies would not only be a disaster for his businesses but the American economy as a whole. But as an American citizen, he is also aware that Democrat policies would mean the end of America as we know it.

But for Democrats, the trouble is with Trump and Musk teaming up. During a recent appearance with former Biden Press Secretary Jen Psaki on MSNBC, California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D)  described Musk's support for Trump as "sucking up" and the possibility of the formulation of an "oligarchy." He added that he was concerned about things "going on behind the scenes." Wow, pretty serious stuff. But wait a minute, is that what Democrats were saying in 2020? Uh...no. It's not.

For Democrats, billionaires are perfectly fine...as long as they are supporting them. Let's take a trip down memory lane, shall we? In 2020, Meta CEO Zuckerberg and his wife, Pricilla Chan, gave around $400 million to the Center for Technology and Civic Life (CTCL) and the Center for Election Innovation and Research (CEIR) as part of a get-out-the-vote effort. Zuckerberg claimed the efforts were meant to be nonpartisan. Only that's not what happened. Both groups had left-wing ties. CTCL founder Tiana Epps-Johnson was a former Obama Foundation fellow. Ultimately, the donations, known as "Zuck Bucks," were handed out disproportionately to Democrat-leaning counties in Georgia and Arizona. Zuckerberg claimed not to know the funds were going more to one party than another. The only noise coming from Democrats about Zuck Bucks...crickets.

Then, in the summer of 2020, came a donation from a still anonymous donor of a whopping $64 million to something called the Impetus Fund. It wound through a series of accounts until it found Joe Biden, imagine that. Several entities, including public interest groups and investigative reporters, even Fox News, tried to find out who the donor was, but to this day, that individual remains about as elusive as Big Foot. As you might guess, again, there were no complaints from Democrats.

In fairness, Democrats have had it in for Elon Musk since he purchased Twitter and vowed it would be a place for absolute freedom of speech. Then, recently, the California Coastal Commission turned down the United States Air Force's request for SpaceX to increase launches at Vandenberg Space Force Base from 36 to 50. Musk has slapped them with a lawsuit alleging,

"The Commission has engaged in naked political discrimination against Plaintiff Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (SpaceX) in violation of the rights of free speech and due process enshrined in the First and Fourteenth Amendments of the United States Constitution."

It takes some cajones for Democrats like Gavin Newsom to whine about "things going on behind the scenes" when this was business as usual for Democrats in 2020. If it weren't for those old double standards...
