What Keeps Global Elitists Up at Night? A Possible Second Trump Presidency

Well, it's that time of year. No, not when hearty Iowans brave sub-zero temperatures to caucus for the GOP candidate of their choice, it is time for all of the world's self-appointed gilded crowd to private-jet their way to Davos, Switzerland to proclaim to the world's peasants -- that would be you and me -- that they know how we should live better than we do. While the usual "concerns" of the Davos crowd will be discussed, war in the Middle East, Artificial Intelligence, although there will be plenty of that on hand live and in person, elections around the world (except of course the U.S.), and everyone's favorite, climate change, there is one very big concern that is the elephant in the room.

In 2024, global elitists' biggest concern is a possible second Donald Trump presidency. The consensus seems to be that "Trump’s presidency poses possible risks to the world order, based on his first term." Philipp Hildebrand is the Vice Chairman of BlackRock. During an interview with Bloomberg, in typical global elitist fashion, he stated:

You know, we’ve been there before, we survived it, so we’ll see what it means. Certainly from a European perspective, from a kind of globalist, Atlanticist perspective, it’s of course a great concern.

Notice he left out one important "perspective," the American perspective. Prior to the annual Davos gathering, European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde echoed Hildebrand's sentiments. She recently told France 2 TV,

If we draw lessons from history, by which I mean to say the manner in which he (Trump) carried out the first four years of his mandate, it is clearly a threat. You just have to look at the trade tariffs, you just have to look at his commitment regarding NATO, you just have to look at his attitude regarding the battle against climate change.

If the Davos crowd is terrified of Donald Trump and views him as a threat, that can only be good for America. Just a quick perusal of the Forum agenda tells you why Trump is seen as a threat. The ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict will be a discussion topic, however, a "humanitarian briefing on Gaza" is due to get 30 minutes of discussion. Free and Fair elections are also on the docket at Davos. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will speak and in a massive dose of self unawareness, Chinese Premier Li Qiang and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan will speak about election integrity. Newly elected libertarian Argentinian President Javier Milei, whose election was also no doubt a jolt for the Davos faithful, will speak on Wednesday.

While the Davos attendees might be getting a bit anxious about another Trump term, they may have help thwarting Trump closer to home. My colleague Nick Arama recently reported that several public interest groups, along with lawmakers, are coming up with plans to derail what they think Trump might do should he win reelection. This includes wild claims about expanding presidential powers and directing the military to assist him politically. They also included sending letters to Trump appointees threatening consequences if they were to violate the Constitution. These same people have been silent about the many questionable actions of the Biden administration.

What the attendees at the Davos meeting don't like is Donald Trump's "America First" agenda. His primary concern is America and Americans. The global elitists know he will not allow America to fund and become involved in never-ending wars, he will put a stop to the invasion at the southern border and their climate change mandates that have nothing to do with the climate and everything to do with power and control.

It is up to Americans to keep global elitists concerned and sleepless for the next four years.
