Let's have a little fun since it's a holiday weekend.
I need to throw one thing here to set it up first. In case you missed it, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) mixed it up earlier in the week on CBS News' "Face The Nation," ably slapping down legacy media and Democrat (but I repeat myself) criticisms that Trump cabinet nominee Pete Hegseth lacks the requisite experience to run the Defense Department.

As readers might have noticed, some politicians have already been letting their hair down over the official start of the holiday season, with President-elect Donald Trump releasing a funny video parodying "Christmas Vacation."

Sen. Paul's wife, Kelley shared a photo of the whole family gathered to celebrate Thanksgiving this year:

Then on Friday, Rand Paul released a hilarious video/skit meant to parody the yearly "controversy" over talking politics with your family members during the holidays. He described it as showing what "another typical Paul family Thanksgiving" is really like.

My guess is that these OG budget hawks were inspired by DOGE, which Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy hope to head up in the new administration.
Maybe too, the skit was partly inspired by Sen. Paul and his dad having a conversation under the Liberty Tree, which "sits on Ron and Carol Paul's property in Texas":
This Thanksgiving weekend, @RandPaul and I took some time for a conversation under the Liberty Tree. We are thankful for the wisdom of our Founders. What are you thankful for? pic.twitter.com/fywDBsHufV

Either way, kicking back and enjoying the company of our loved ones is what this time of year is all about for Americans--whatever your surname--especially when what you come up with is funnier than most of what passes for comedy these days on the late night shows and "Saturday Night Live."
