Harris' CNN Interview Has Already Yielded Its 1st Fruit in Damaging New Ad From Team Trump-Vance

Many of us have memories longer than a common jellyfish and recall when President Joe Biden was ushered out of the 2024 presidential race after a particularly disastrous debate with Donald Trump. So it stands to reason that Democrats were likely filled with trepidation over Biden's vice president, who was swiftly ushered into the top spot on the Democrat ticket, finally sitting down for a formal TV interview.

As my colleagues have shared already, despite the interview on Thursday being divvied up for a friendly legacy media hack like CNN's Dana Bash, Vice President Kamala Harris (and Minnesota not-so-nice comrade and veep candidate, Tim Walz) didn't exactly cut it.

People Had Some Big Questions About Kamala's Train Wreck Interview

Search "Dana Bash" on the homepage for more stories like those, from last night and Friday, if you can't get enough of the fail.

First, here's RedState's Jennifer Oliver O'Connell on an ill-advised off-the-cuff remark by Harris, on why she suddenly changed her mind about supporting a ban on fracking:

In the only journalistic follow-up of the night, CNN correspondent Dana Bash asked, "Why did you change your position?"

Here is where Kamala served up another of her famous word salads.

...

Harris continued on about how the residual impact of fracking has been proven not to affect the overall environment, and this is what drove her decision... or something like that. Then Harris doubled down again about her values not changing.

What we’ve already done –creating over 300,000 new clean energy jobs – that tells me from my experience as Vice President, we can do it without banning fracking.

That one line in the interview is enjoying extended life past the Thursday air date of the pre-recorded (and likely, heavily edited) interview, as writer Leah Barkoukis at our sister site Townhall noted, with it becoming the focus of a blistering new ad that Team Trump-Vance released via Trump's Truth Social account on Friday.

Watch:

I've got to say: If the Harris-Walz people can't find a way to keep her connected to a trusty teleprompter (it was not lost on many people that she was flailing even with the use of notes here), there is going to be more embarrassment during the next two months before the election. Get out that big popcorn bowl your family stows away in the cabinet over the fridge. You're going to get plenty of use out of it, trust me.
