As we wrote earlier on Friday, a judge released a decision on the District Attorney Fani Willis disqualification case, in which former President Donald Trump's legal team argued that the entire Fulton County DA's office should be kicked off the case against him:
Judge Scott McAfee has delivered his ruling on whether to disqualify Fani Willis from her own prosecution of Donald Trump in Fulton County, GA. According to the judge, Willis will be able to remain on the case but with a catch: For the troubled district attorney to stay in her position, she must fire Nathan Wade.
Wade is the prosecutor she had an affair with and hired above market rate. He and Willis infamously took lavish vacations together, which he put on his business credit card. No proof was ever produced that reimbursements were made.
My colleague Bonchie also covered some of the uproar following the ruling already, from people like journalist Megyn Kelly and Newsbusters' Curtis Houck.

Now an attorney for the former president has reacted, stating that he thinks the judge missed just how strong the case was, considering the level of severe misconduct by Willis, Wade, and the prosecutor's office as a whole.
In a statement, Steve Sadow, Trump’s lead defense counsel, said:
While respecting the Court’s decision, we believe that the Court did not afford appropriate significance to the prosecutorial misconduct of Willis and Wade, including the financial benefits, testifying untruthfully about when their personal relationship began, as well as Willis’ extrajudicial MLK ‘church speech,’ where she played the race card and falsely accused the defendants and their counsel of racism.
He added that the defense "will use all legal options available as we continue to fight to end this case, which should never have been brought in the first place."
The Team Trump lawyer wasn't the only voice speaking up about the weak nature of the ruling:
Scott Grubman, a defense attorney who had been representing co-defendant Kenneth Chesebro, said on CNN after the ruling he was “disappointed” in the judge’s decision.
“If you were being charged with a crime that could land you in prison for a decade plus and this was happening, would you feel like you were getting a fair shake?”
This is a developing story. RedState will bring you updates as they become available.
