There are subtle ads, and there are ads that are pretty bold. Then some ads are a gut punch. Roy Moore will likely see some more attempts at gun punch ads, but it will be hard to top the latest one released by a group called Alabama Values.
The ad has all the trappings of the “scary” kind of ad meant to put voters still on the fence back to the other side. For people dug in for Moore, this ad won’t matter. The polls are all over the place so it is difficult to say what kind of effect it will have.
That said, it’s not impossible to see some of those who are hesitant to deal with the fallout of Moore winning, thinking a lot more about their vote after seeing this ad.
