Rep. John Shimkus (R - IL 15th District) Must Go

Just the other day, 127 Republicans in the House voted with near unanimous Democrat support, to reauthorize the Ex-Im Bank.

My Congressman, [mc_name name=”Rep. John Shimkus (R-IL)” chamber=”house” mcid=”S000364″ ] was one of the co-sponsors of the bill & also voted in the affirmative for the bill.

[mc_name name=”Rep. John Shimkus (R-IL)” chamber=”house” mcid=”S000364″ ] has continually voted to allow Obama to run up the national debt $9 trillion over the last 7 years.

In a few days, you can bet the farm that [mc_name name=”Rep. John Shimkus (R-IL)” chamber=”house” mcid=”S000364″ ] will vote for the atrocious budget deal that robs Peter to pay Paul.

Yet to hear [mc_name name=”Rep. John Shimkus (R-IL)” chamber=”house” mcid=”S000364″ ] tell his story when he comes home to his district, he’s fighting the conservative fight in DC for the Illinois 15th District. Nothing could be farther than the truth as his record speaks for itself.

This year for the first time since I can remember [mc_name name=”Rep. John Shimkus (R-IL)” chamber=”house” mcid=”S000364″ ] actually has a legitimate primary challenge in the name of State Senator Kyle McCarter (R- 54th State Senate District).

State Senator Kyle McCarter has plowed a conservative road in the Illinois State Capitol which has earned him the ire of both liberals & his own party’s leadership. Kyle McCarter is the kind of guy who votes a conservative line in a state where such things are not supposed to happen & proves that you can get re-elected by doing so.

The simple fact of the matter is the election of the IL 15th isn’t in November. The General Election  is actually in the upcoming primary this spring because the IL 15th is a hard Republican district with a Cook Rating of R +14. Shimkus won the district winning 75% of the vote last election. Shimkus didn’t win it because he was doing a good job (he isn’t); he won it because of the way the district leans heavily.

As I have stated in a past diary, I have volunteered for both Shimkus & McCarter over the years. One – Rep. Shimkus – has let me (and the voters of his district) down time & again. The other – Kyle McCarter – continues to earn my respect & my vote.

In 2 decades, [mc_name name=”Rep. John Shimkus (R-IL)” chamber=”house” mcid=”S000364″ ] has accomplished absolutely nothing other than cashing his paycheck from the taxpayers while voting for nearly every spending bill – even the CR recently that funded Planned Parenthood (after he protested locally against PP). As Kyle McCarter says, “20 years is enough, [mc_name name=”Rep. John Shimkus (R-IL)” chamber=”house” mcid=”S000364″ ]”.

Take time to learn more about [mc_name name=”Rep. John Shimkus (R-IL)” chamber=”house” mcid=”S000364″ ] as well. You’ll see there is a stark contrast between the two men.
