Gary Johnson Running for Senate in New Mexico

It’s true- Libertarian presidential hopeful Gary Johnson is now running for Senate in New Mexico. “It’s moving forward,” Johnson 2016 campaign manager and current head of a Johnson-supporting SuperPAC Ron Nielson told Reason. “He’s begun the process of filing.” Just months ago, he told the same outlet “I’m done with elected political office.”

Neilson said “There’s a lot of interest in Gary. He had a broad sector of support from Libertarians and from interested parties nationwide, but in New Mexico he’s getting a lot of support from people. So we’re hoping that we can raise substantial sums, millions of dollars, here in the not-too-distant future.”

So, can Gary Johnson turn New Mexico gold or will he just split the vote? We’ll see.
