Sometimes, your day just goes to pot.

Such was the recent case for a Tennessee woman, who found herself the arguable victim of high gas prices.

As Catherine Mardesich traveled southbound on a Sunday in her Suburban, a sputtering started.

The vehicle was fresh out of fuel — and on the I55 bridge, no less.

The car went kaput above the Mississippi River around 3:30 p.m., so Catherine took an afternoon walk.

Fast-forward to reports of an abandoned vehicle, at a point where Memphis and Arkansas connect.

Due to the location, both Memphis Police officers and Arkansas State Police members arrived at the scene.

Arkansas law enforcement and the Tennessee Department of Transportation moved the SUV to a nearby business. A report was initiated.

At that point, per Fox13, 54-year-old Catherine returned:

After she was told that the Suburban, which had been involved in a crash on the bridge, was going to be inventoried and towed, Mardesich told officers that they could not go inside the car…

Despite her insistence, police approached the vehicle. As they neared, a skunkish smell undeniably hung. They noticed large boxes inside the Chevrolet.

Upon searching the boxes and a duffle bag, officials uncovered a criminal crop: The truck was stuffed with the devil’s lettuce.

Cops counted 229 pounds of marijuana.

Also located: a large sum of cash.

Being that Catherine abandoned her vehicle on the Memphis side of the bridge, she was booked into Shelby County’s Jail East.

Her story serves as a lesson: If you’re transporting a field’s worth of weed and you get gassed out, maybe call a friend for help and stay with your car. And whatever you do, don’t park it in a usable lane — another of the lady’s potentially pot-provoked lapses.

As for stealth, Catherine’s boxing of the Peruvian parsley wasn’t a Best Effort concealment. Then again, only smaller amounts can be inconspicuously stowed:

Catherine was charged with felony possession. It clearly wasn’t her best day, but it could’ve been quite a bit crappier:
