Rand Paul Will Introduce a Repeal of Air Travel Mask Mandates to 'Stop This Farce'

Do you love commercial flights? If so, is your preference mask-on or -off?

If Sen. Rand Paul gets his way, you might soon have the privilege of choice once again.

As you’re likely aware, the Transportation Security Administration has continued its mask mandate.

In February, the agency suggested a fine for folks failing to cover themselves at security checkpoints.

Recommended: $250 for first-timers.

Repeat offenders: up to $1,500.

And in May, the agency renewed its set-to-expire rule through September 13th.

But Rand reckons the requirement contains components of comedy.

In fact, on the 8th, he tweeted as follows:

“When the Senate returns to session, I will be introducing an immediate repeal of the mask mandate on planes. Enough! Time to stop this farce and let people travel in peace!”

The senator’s had a lot to say on COVID as of late:

And now, he’s ready to see masks come off flying faces.

But the air up there isn’t the same as it used to be.

Recently, the Federal Aviation Administration was told to start using gender-neutral terms.

Words to avoid:

  • airman
  • manned aviation

More from the Daily Mail:

Giving a reason for the proposed change to ‘flight deck,’ [the FAA] claimed the term ‘cockpit’ has occasionally been used by male crew members to ‘exclude or undermine femme coworkers’.

‘Femme’ was originally used to describe a lesbian with feminine traits, but has since been updated to refer to ‘a queer person whose gender expression is considered to be feminine,’ according to NonBinaryWiki.

These days, the skies are more sensitive:

In fact, not long ago, a family was kicked off a plane because their toddler wouldn’t keep covered:

See for yourself:

If two-year-olds can’t even get a pass, how will you?

Rand Paul wants to figure that out.

And the guy’s on fire over the issue.

As reported by RedState’s Brandon Morse, he grilled Fauci on March 18th:

“You’re making a policy based on conjecture. … You’ve been vaccinated, and you parade around in two masks for show. You can’t get it again. There’s virtually 0% chance you’re gonna get it, and yet you’re telling people that have had the vaccine, who have immunity — you’re defying everything we know about immunity by telling people to wear masks who’ve been vaccinated. Instead, you should be saying, ‘There is no science to say we’re going to have a problem from the large number of people who’ve been vaccinated.’ You want to get rid of vaccine hesitancy? Tell them they can quit wearing masks after they get the vaccine. You want people to get the vaccine? Give them a reward instead of telling them that the nanny state’s going to be there for three more years, and you’ve got to wear a mask forever. People don’t want to hear it, and there’s no science behind it.”

Will airlines’ requirement persist?

No one wants to live under the oppression of a “farce.”

If only Rand could effectively ban something else on a plane, that sounds very similar to that word — a malady which, unfortunately, often makes passengers desperately wish they had a mask.
