Have you ever lied so much, something fell off? The FBI has.

So says South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham.

The oft-fiery congressman appeared on Fox Sunday Futures with Maria Bartiromo to talk about the Bureau and that most notorious of all documents (aside form the Constitution): the Russia-rific Steele dossier.

On July 17th, Lindsey — who chairs the Senate Judiciary Committee — released a declassified FBI memo authored by former British spy Christopher Steel which served as another blow to the org’s credibility.

Per the memo, in January of 2017, Russian analyst Igor Danchenko told the Bureau he was a prime Steele source.

As noted by The Daily Caller, Igor served as a contractor for Christopher and provided intel on Donald Trump and his campaign in 2016.

However, Steele allegedly beefed up the info.

From the Caller:

Danchenko, a Russian national who lives in the U.S., told the FBI that Steele embellished some of the information that ended up in the dossier. Danchenko also detailed his contacts with six associates who he claimed were sources of the information that he passed to Steele, a former MI6 officer.

Danchenko’s sources didn’t appear to have deep contacts inside the Kremlin, though they are portrayed that way in Steele’s dossier.

On December 9th, the DoJ released a report of the Bureau’s (mis)management of the dossier, calling out investigators for withholding some of Igor’s claims in an interview with the Bureau. Select results from that meeting were employed in attaining Foreign Intelligence Surveillance ACT warrants against Carter Page, a former aide of Trump.

And Lindsey Graham thinks all the shenanigans stink.

Speaking to Maria, he said Igor appeared to be telling the truth, yet the FBI failed to share Steele-damning details with the FISA court.

According to Linds, the Bureau knowingly used a less-than-credible document:

“When the FBI understood that the dossier was no longer reliable, they continued to use it.”

Congressional members, he explained, requested a briefing from the Bureau in 2018 following raised questions over the accuracy of the document and Christopher Steele’s source.

“We also now have found this — and this will come out next week — that Congress got suspicious about the Russian subsource and the reliability of the Steele dossier, and that members of Congress asked to be briefed about it.”

But the FBI’s a bunch of stinkin’ liars.

And, perhaps he might say, they’re a certain departed body part.

Light ’em up, Lindsey:

“Stay tuned next week, you’re going to find that not only did the FBI lie to the FISA court, they lied their ass off to the Congress.”

One thing about the senator — he doesn’t hold back. There’ve been lots of examples, but a favorite of yore: when he told China to stop eating bats.

And good lord, who could forget this:

As for the Steele dossier, like a Florida cockroach, the aftermath of Russia mania just won’t die. Stay tuned for more. And for further fire from a certain 65-year-old from Central, South Carolina.
