At this point, surely some Americans watch Trump’s coronavirus conferences just to see how badly he burns CNN.

For those on the edge of their seats, Thursday provided some savory satisfaction.

While delivering his daily briefing, the President fielded a question about North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, who was rumored to have been left incapacitated following heart surgery.

A male reporter asked if, due to Trump’s relationship with the East Asian leader, he was able to “get more information about his status.”

The Commander-in-Chief’s response:

“I think the report was incorrect, let me just put it that way. I think the report was done by a network that was incorrect. I’m hearing they used old documents. But that’s what I hear — I hear the report was an incorrect report. I hope it was an incorrect report.”

As he said, “a network,” he appeared to gesture to CNN reporter Katie Collins.

The man followed up, “When was the last time you heard from him?”

“I don’t wanna say,” Trump returned.

Then Katie spoke up:

“Mr. President, since you pointed to me, just a quick question about that — so you haven’t made any contact, though? Just to make sure.”

“With who?” Trump replied.

“The North Koreans.”

The Leader of the Free World repeated himself and…giddyup!

“I don’t wanna say. I won’t say that. We have a good relationship with North Korea. As good as you can have. … I have a good relationship with Kim Jong Un, and I hope he’s okay. … I think it was a fake report — done by CNN.”

He’s doin’ it folks. Give him room!

“So can I ask you a question, though?” Katie served.

Evidently going to a Zen place where CNN didn’t exist, the Donald pointed to someone else.

“What do you have? Go ahead.”

Katie wouldn’t stop.

“No, that’s enough,” Trump insisted. “Go ahead.”

Katie again:

“But that wasn’t my question.”

Oy.

The far Left’s greatest nightmare was locked and loaded. He turned to Katie:

“The problem is you don’t write the truth, so, you know — as far as I’m concerned — I wanna go to the next quest–“

She didn’t get the hint:

“But can I ask you a question about [Dr. Rick Bright, director of the Department of Health and Human Services’ Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority]?”

Rejection:

“No, not CNN, please. Go ahead.”

Collins continued:

“The White House has not responded to the allegations…”

Donald Trump had had it.

This, my friends, was the end:

“You don’t — I told you: CNN is fake news. Don’t talk to me.”

Wow.

“Go ahead, please.”

She kept on, purposelessly.

“But he says he was retaliated against, and that’s why he was removed from his job. Do you have a response to that.”

Trump paused and looked to his left, seemingly just waiting for the sound to cease.

And it was hilarious.

“Okay, next question.”

Good grief.

It was one of the most stunning shutdowns I’ve seen.

Sometimes, I’m surprised the network is still attending the conferences. As someone commented on YouTube, “When he starts these briefings, he should just say upfront that he’s not going to answer any questions from CNN. That would save a lot of time.”

It also seems to me that the network — which has to know it’s maligned by a great number of Americans — might seek to change its reputation as grossly biased. Alas, it only appears to double down over time.

One More Reason Jim Acosta is a Goofball

Will the outlet ever up its game? I remember, just barely, long ago — when it was viewed as a solid source of information. I’d love to see a return.

As for now, we have this:

I hope you enjoy the video.

And buckle up for tomorrow — I’m sure we’ve got a lot more to go. Likely about five years’ worth, in fact.
