Arnold Schwarzenegger occupies a peculiar political space.
For years, he talked conservative principles and supported Republican candidates.
Wanna see something amazing? Here ya go:
probably one of the more ridiculous photos of @GeorgeHWBush – sledding with @Schwarzenegger at Camp David in 1991. (plus check out how he signed the photo): pic.twitter.com/W64qOuWefx

Then he dashed onto the scene as a revolutionizing conservative California governor. But according to a gaggle of right-wing critics, once he took office, for two terms, he Democrated it up somethin’ fierce.
And in 2016, he made an announcement:
As proud as I am to label myself a Republican, there is one label that I hold above all else – American. My full statement: pic.twitter.com/biRvY8S3aZ

Translation: Not a fan of Trump.
And then there was this, which surely hasn’t helped:
I wish you the best of luck and I hope you'll work for ALL of the American people as aggressively as you worked for your ratings.

Yes, Arnold Schwarzenegger did a really bad job as Governor of California and even worse on the Apprentice…but at least he tried hard!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 3, 2017
Arnold Schwarzenegger isn't voluntarily leaving the Apprentice, he was fired by his bad (pathetic) ratings, not by me. Sad end to great show
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 4, 2017
But I give Arnold credit here:
Please study this quote from Lincoln's inaugural, @realDonaldTrump. It inspired me every day I was Governor, and I hope it inspires you. pic.twitter.com/QRoOFTZfQ9

Schwarzenegger’s back with another olive branch. Or, at least, with compliments to the Commander-in-Chief for addressing California’s punishingly immense homeless problem.
At the “Unhoused: Addressing Homelessness in California” event at USC Thursday, Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson appeared compliments of POTUS.
Therefore, the Terminator took to the Twitter to thank the Prez:
Everyone knows @realDonaldTrump & I have our disagreements. But I want to thank you for sending @SecretaryCarson to our homelessness summit. We’ll only solve this if everyone works together. This issue is bigger than all of us. Now it’s time for action https://t.co/gJVNs3h10f

As reported by The Daily Wire, Ben said a bipartisan effort needs to be made, and that the White House will call on “every church, synagogue and mosque” to take care of those without homes.
But how’d we get here, where LA’s full-up with the homeless and San Francisco has its very own Poop Map (a must-see here)?
Speaking on Steve Hilton’s The Next Revolution Sunday, Arnold waxed on the origins:
“When it comes down to it, California was going through a period where we had kind of had a no-growth movement. Therefore there was no supply anymore so the demand became bigger and bigger and the prices of homes now went up. No one could afford it except people that made a lot of money so it priced people out of their homes. There are 60,000 homeless in Los Angeles. We have a major problem. It has become a crisis.”
So there are over half a hundred thousand people sleeping outside because rent is high?
And that’s the belief of a guy who moved to California with empty pockets and amassed a net worth of $400 million?
The escalating cost of real estate is certainly a reason people move; but I’ve never heard of it convincing anybody to take a dump on the sidewalk.
So I’m gonna say No; there are other factors involved. Perhaps some of them have nothing to do with leases and mortgages, and more to do with mental health and the policies of California’s leadership.
The first step to solving a problem is diagnosing it; so we’ve got a ways to go.
But at least there’s some progress in the Arnold-Donald rift. I’m on the edge of my seat for that sledding pic.
Don’t make us wait much longer, guys.
