Trump to His Christian Supporters: Religion Is 'Under Siege,' but He Will 'Never Stop Fighting for Americans of Faith'

At the moment, we’re on the edge of our seats over Iran. But what about some of our country’s other fights?

As I covered Sunday, the President spoke to an audience of the faithful Friday at the launch of Evangelicals for Trump.

At the time, he reminded the crowd what America was founded upon:

“[The country] was not built by religion-hating socialists. America was built by church-going, God-worshiping, freedom-loving patriots.”

And:

“We know that families and churches — not Washington and bureaucrats — know best how to create strong and loving communities. Above all else, we know this: In America, we don’t worship government, we worship God.”

But there was more.

As noted by LifeNews, the President made a vow to his Christian constituency:

He may be a flawed man, but he’s going to fight for Believers.

Like no other president ever has:

“I may not be perfect, but I get things done. … [Christians] have never had a greater champion — not even close — than you have in the White House right now.”

Trump said he understands — faith is under attack:

“Look at the record. We’ve done things that nobody thought was possible. We’re not only defending our constitutional rights, we’re also defending religion itself — which is under siege.”

The President expounded upon methods of mayhem:

“Faith-based schools, charities, hospitals, adoption agencies, pastors were systematically targeted by federal bureaucrats and ordered to stop following their beliefs.”

But, according to the Commander-in-Chief, he’s put a stop to that:

“The day I was sworn in, the federal government’s war on religion came to an abrupt end.”

And he’ll never give up the fight:

“My administration will never stop fighting for Americans of faith. We will restore the faith as the true foundation of American life.”

Nobody likes a bully, and that’s what Trump sees on the side of the far Left.

The billionaire championed the tradition of faith and its necessity for American prosperity:

“We will not allow faithful Americans to be bullied by the far Left. We’re not going to allow it… … [There are some] who say these sacred beliefs are outdated. But we know they are just the opposite. Our traditions and our values are timeless and immortal. [The political Left doesn’t] know what they are missing. Our faith is needed now more than ever.”

And what of the opposition? The President pointed to an obstinance toward faith in practice:

“[E]very Democrat candidate running for president is trying to punish religious believers and silence our churches and our pastors. Our opponents want to shut out God from the public square so they can impose their extreme anti-religious and socialist agenda on America.”

So he issued a call to arms, explaining that he believes God led the 2016 election:

“In 2016, evangelical Christians went out and helped us in numbers never seen before… … I really believe we have God on our side…or there would have been no way that we could have won.”

How else could he have beat the media?

“People say, ‘How do you win? You don’t have the media. You have so many things against you.’ And we win. So there has to be something.'”

That’s a pretty good question. And point.

The President has staked his claim; he’s planted his flag. He’s on the side of faith.

And despite what some may believe, that’s a very big portion of America — enough to have put a guy with no political experience at the head of the nation’s table.

Because he made them believe in him.

And as for November 2020, the Believers will be ready once again.
