Really, there’s no such thing as “the news.” It’s really “the news that outlets want to tell.”

Thus, some scandals never see the light of day while others couldn’t be removed from our consciousness with Ajax.

So what of the news about ABC squashing Amy Robach’s Jeffrey Epstein story?

As brought to light Tuesday by Project Veritas, Amy was caught on camera with a hot mic saying a lot:

“I’ve had the story for three years. I’ve had this interview with Virginia Roberts. We would not put it on the air. Um, first of all, I was told, ‘Who’s Jeffrey Epstein? No one knows who that is. This is a stupid story.’ Then, the Palace found out that we had her whole allegations about Prince Andrew and threatened us a million different ways. We were so afraid we wouldn’t be able to interview Kate and Will that we —  that also quashed the story.”

…

“She had pictures, she had everything. … It was unbelievable what we had — Clinton, we had everything. I tried for three years to get it on, to no avail. And now it’s all coming out, and it’s like these new revelations and I freaking had all of it. … Every day, I get more and more pissed, ’cause I’m just like…what we had was unreal. Other women backing it up. … Brad Edwards, the attorney, three years ago, saying, ‘There will come a day when we will realize Jeffrey Epstein was the most prolific pedophile this country has ever known.'”

A story was stymied involving high rollers, sex trafficking, a mysterious island, and — eventually — a suspicious “suicide”?

Despite the Veritas revelation, as noted by The Daily Caller, Tuesday night, some major outlets were all crickets.

Ones that weren’t: The Associated Press, Fox News, Axios, The Daily Beast, Vox, and The Washington Post.

As covered by RedState’s Sister Toldjah, Brian Stelter referenced the story in a newsletter, but CNN laid off during Tuesday evening’s airtime.

Another group that went with the word “mum” on the boob tube and the net: CBS News.

And last but not least: NBC.

That includes the MS derivative, a network not exactly known for being coy:

NBC News did publish an AP report on its website, but nothing on air.

As for the Epstein story and ABC, the network released a statement claiming it “never stopped investigating the story” and that the reporting simply didn’t “meet ABC’s editorial standards…”

And Amy’s backpedaled on her candid comments.

Putting aside the potential corporate politics of all that, the fact that the PV video was ignored by major media organizations seems odd.

Does it not?
